When the weather warms up, my wardrobe gets lighter and more colorful, and so do my nails. I finally steer away from blackened colors to break out nudes, pinks, and blues. For this post, I picked out some of my recent favorites. Eleven picks might be excessive, but these ones are my go to shades for spring and summer.
Nudes & Whites
If I had to pick only one color, it would be white. White nails look so fresh and bright against a tan, especially on toes. Once white goes on my toes, I end up repeating it for the next few rounds that I paint them.
You can’t go wrong with nude polishes in summertime. My #1 top nude is Essie Topless & Barefoot. It makes me feel like a hand model when I have it on. This looks amazing on both fingers and toes. Urban Jungle by Essie is a cool off-white shade that looks both nude and grey.
When my nails are looking chipped (often), I avoid drawing attention to them by going with a milky pinkish white on my hands as a step up from painting them clear. La Vie en Rose by Deborah Lippmann is a translucent white/pink with light pink and gold sparkles. Similar “manicure” shades I have tried never worked for me. That less opaque look always seemed to be streaky, have too thick or thin of a formula, need a million coats, or have an unflattering tint. This one has just the right color to make my hands looked polished, and it only need two coats.

Pinks
On to colors! My favorite neon of all time is China Glaze Pool Party. This is a neon red that can look orange or hot pink. If I am tan it is a stunner. Essie Boom Boom Room is the perfect cotton candy/ bubblegum super girly pink. Mod About You by OPI is a white based lavender/ light pink that I really like wearing on my toes during the off chance they aren’t white.

Blues
Light blues call my name when it comes to colorful polishes. Essie’s Virgin Snow is a newer purchase. I kept hearing about this color on YouTube and in the blog world so I had to check it out. This gorgeous pale periwinkle lavender/ blue makes me feel girly, and it goes with everything. When I painted my nails in it last week, I had to force myself to switch to something different when it was time to redo them. Bikini So Teeny is the prettiest light blue you could want. Maximillian Strasse Her is a grungy version of mint for me. This one has a greyish undertone that matches my wardrobe. That may seem strange, but I wear a lot of grey, black, and denim/ chambray and I think it coordinates very well with those colors.

These colors are my favorite for summertime, but they really work year round. If you would like to read more about how I like to do my manicures, check out the steps I take here.
