Go To Eye Shadow Singles

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetFor me, almost every look starts with a neutral matte eye shadow.  Sometimes I use them for the star of the show for a matte eye, but no matter what, I believe that they are so important for a transition or crease shade.  Below are the singles that I rely on and use as a backbone to almost all my looks.  Usually eye shadow palettes come with some nice transition shades of their own (The ABH Modern Renaissance is AMAZING!), but I think I prefer these to almost anything else that I have.

Neutral warm

Warm Colors

Tuscan Sun / medium salmon pink

Bitten / matte deep maroon red

Cocoa Bear / matte reddish brown

Frappe / medium maple brown

Wild West / rich rose brown

Unexpected / matte pale pink brown

ABH Blazing / Brick red

Neutral Transition shades

Light & Brown Neutrals

Latte / medium brown

Creme Brulee / medium sand color

Desert Sands / medium camel brown with warm yellow undertones

Chickadee / matte yellow orange

ABH Custard / warm sand

Peach Smoothie / light peach beige

White Lies / pure white

Without even meaning to I picked all Makeup Geek ($6) and Anastasia Beverly Hills ($12).  The pigmentation and blend-ability (made up this word) on these are amazing! Another formula I like are also the MAC singles, and they recently reduced their price to $6. These are easy to take in a Z palette when I travel.  I grab a shimmery Colourpop eye shadow or two to mix and match and I am set!  Thank you for reading, and please let me know which matte shadows you love.
