Lately I have fallen back in love with some lipsticks in my collection that have been sadly abandoned for the past few months because of getting distracted by new liquid lipstick formulas. This summer I have been mainly wearing gloss, light pinks, neutrals, and nude colors for my daily looks. This week the weather dipped into the 60s and 70s with some rain showers in Portland (yay!!) and I am ready to get into fall- themed makeup.
Matte skin, bold brows, winged liner, warm brown crease, highlighted cheekbones and inner corner, and a 90’s cinnamon lip is such an easy and beautiful look. I would totally do makeup like this year round, but it would melt off my face and look a little weird when I am just trying to find the nearest AC to sit in during the warmer months.
MAC lipsticks are a great formula, and one of the original brands that I fell in love with when I initially started really wearing and buying makeup. There are many brands out there that offer amazing nudey brown lipsticks in this shade, but for this post I just wanted to talk about my go to MAC lipsticks. These are dramatic and deeper shades- not so much your everyday lip, but the colors I go for when I want to be bold.
Del rio // Warm deep brown with red undertones
Taupe // Burnt neutral brown
Whirl // Red undertone brown, very wearable
Mocha // Very similar to Taupe, but with a satin finish rather than matte.
Viva Glam III // This shade is the deepest of all the colors I mentioned here, and almost borders on too dark to bring up. I wanted to include it because this lipstick is such a unique take on this color trend. It is dark and very warm, but still wearable.
Chili // This orange is muted with brown and red undertones. I am NOT an orange lip person, but this one works for me. This a beautiful alternative to brown lipstick for a fall makeup look, with a pumpkin spice twist.
Fall lipsticks are the best lipsticks 🙂
