Happy post- holidays! I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas/ Hanukah/ anything you choose to celebrate. I spent Christmas Eve with my family and boyfriend’s family snacking, drinking my favorite IPAs, playing that LOLz game, then Christmas Day being lazy and continuing the leftovers snack fest at my apartment with my cat Prince. The best gift was spending the evening with the people I love, but I also received some fabulous gifts that are right up my alley- beauty products. Below are the items I am enjoying from this Christmas.
Conair Hair Straightening Brush / I have been wanting to try out a straightening brush for a month or so. It works! I actually wish it got a little hotter, but with small sections it gave me shiny and straight hair. I’m not sure how well this would work on someone with naturally frizzy or tighter curls. I think the best part about it is doing something mundane like straightening my hair in a fun new way.
Sephora Algae mask / I have held off buying these sheet masks for myself because they are a one time use. They are an amazing gift though! I used this last night and it left my skin soft and glowy. I like that they basically are serum- packed and deliver a heavy dose of vitamins to your face that you can leave on after you remove the sheet mask.
Lush H’Suan Wen Hua / This hair mask smells like cinnamon chai latte. My ends are pretty dry right now so I really appreciated this present. The smell is very strong, which I love. After letting this sit on my hair for an hour last night, I shampooed and conditioned my hair. It still smelled strongly of chai after I had dried and styled it. I went out to dinner with friends and got a compliment on how it smelled good! I didn’t notice a huge change in how my hair feels, but it is currently still smelling great as I am writing this the next day!
Sally Hansen Reflection Pool nail polish / This teal- blue- purple duochrome is beautiful.
Covergirl So Lashy Mascara / My mom picked up this mascara for me. Usually I don’t go for waterproof because I don’t like the struggle of removing it. The application is cool though- fat wand with a little spikey ball at the end for really getting those tiny inner corner lashes. I am thinking this will be a great lower lash mascara since it is waterproof and won’t transfer as much under my eyes. I should try out new mascaras more often!
Bare Minerals Well Rested / This was from me, to me. I needed a refill of my favorite powder for brightening under the eyes.
Eylure Gilded lashes / I tried these out last Monday and they are G L A M. If you like bold lashes, you need these. They are very fluffy, full, and have that “3D” look. I wish the band was thinner, but with trimming them down I could deal just fine. I talked about these in more detail here.
Ardell 113 lashes / My faves! These lashes show off eyeshadow and emphasize my eye shape the best.
I hope you had a fabulous Christmas & New Years!
