There are a ton of variations of the meaning of “nude” when it comes to lipsticks. Neutral, beige, mauve, brown, tan, and more words are used to describe colors with cool, warm, and neutral undertones. I like trying out different undertones on my lips depending on the look, and I honestly can’t pick a favorite color family. When someone is describing the color of a nude lipstick, ultimately it is necessary to just see it on their skin tone because of the overuse of so many of those descriptive words.
Recently I was rifling through my collection looking at my lipsticks that lean on the terracotta, coral, or orange side. I was looking for a dupe of the recent shade released by Jeffree Star Cosmetics, I’m Shook. The color is described as a “burnt coral”. It looked beautiful in photos and was the first coral color I have seen possibly ever that looked like something I could pull off. Peach and bright pink corals are usually a no- go on me and make my teeth look yellow. My skin is reddish naturally so that also may have something to do with it.
Typically I can justify buying nude lipsticks more easily than bright colors. I’ll simply get more uses from them. This particular muted red looked so unique though, and I couldn’t get it out of my head. Based on my search through my lipstick drawer, I didn’t have a dupe. As a result, I ended up buying the new color. I have never purchased a JS product, so I am looking forward to trying out this formula. This lipstick was part of a collaboration with MannyMUA. There was also a beautiful icy peach highlighter called Eclipse and another cool- toned brown nude liquid lipstick called Daddy. I wanted the highlighter but thought it looked quite similar to the Nicole Guerriero and Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit shade Forever Young. I need to lay off highlighter purchasing!
The makeup industry always surprises me. Just when I thought every color has been thought of, something unique like I’m Shook releases. I have a tough time pulling off anything bright orange or coral, so I don’t have many. I love more muted “nude” shades that lean orange, rusty, or orange- red. I thought I would share the shades in this family that I own if you share the same interest in wearable terracotta colors.

I will report back on the formula of Jeffree Star I’m Shook after I get a few wears out of it! It was extremely comfortable when I was wearing it at home for about an hour. Are you picking up anything from this Youtuber brand collaboration? Thank you so much for reading. :]
