Any time I find a great foundation combination I am so excited to share it. This one is probably my favorite to date and I feel like it will be a routine I stick to for awhile. I’ll break it down product by product.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer / I apply a pea sized amount of this all over my face. It glides over pores and any acne spots to create the perfect canvas for more base products. I always thought this silicone primer would be too emollient to combat my oil, but using it with matte foundations seems to work amazingly well. Everytime I put this under one of my foundations I end up with my skin looking airbrushed in a way I didn’t even think was possible. Sounds beyond cheesy but it’s true!
Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream / The shade medium is great for when I have a little bit of color and has a creamy consistency that provides a medium amount of coverage that I can build up or sheer out. It feels weightless on the skin and sets to a satin finish. I can’t believe it took me so long to finally try this!! This is holy grail status for me at this point and I’ve barely used it. It looks amazing on its own or mixed with the next product. This may be the best drugstore foundation I have tried.
Stila Stay All Day 10 in 1 Illuminating BB / I skip this part for a night out because it has SPF, but for daytime I want that. I find that I need to use a little more of the Covergirl Clean Matte BB cream than I’m used to, so I like to cut it with Stila’s beauty balm to extend it farther and get more skin benefits that the Stila provides. Half this, half Covergirl is my perfect mixture and they play nicely together. Adding in the Stila is lighter coverage than the Covergirl alone and also lightens up the color.
After I do the rest of my face, I dust Urban Decay Velvetizer over my oily zones/ pretty much everywhere and this combination DOES NOT BUDGE. This product is a must for oily skin. No more worrying that my foundation is slipping off my face.
I wore the smashbox primer with the covergirl bb out to dinner on Sunday night and it lasted through a chicken burger, beers, birthday cake, and a nap. I went to wash my face at the end of the night and it still looked freshly applied. I wore it again all day out in the sun for fourth of July activities and it was perfect. Between this foundation combination and the NYX Control Freak Brow Gel mascara top coat I have mentioned, I feel like I finally have a budge- proof makeup regimen!

Hi there! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you
know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks
weird when browsing from my iphone. I’m trying
to find a theme or plugin that might be able to fix this issue.
If you have any recommendations, please share.
Many thanks!
