Nail Colors of the Month |September 2017

september nails

During September I kept track of all the nail colors I used. It was half out of curiosity because I really do use quite a few, and half to make blog content. I used to do seasonal polish picks but this is a more realistic version since it shows what I actually paint on my hands month to month.  Along with the colors, I’ll mention if there were any crap formulas that I noticed.

OPI Nicole  Miss Independent / This gorgeous polish shows up differently depending on the lighting- gold, rose gold, and silver in others. Metallic shimmer polishes like this hide chips really well, and my nails aren’t always/ ever shaped beautifully so it helps me cover that.  I linked a similar color because I didn’t find this online.  I bought mine at Ulta.

Deborah Lippmann La Vie En Rose

Deborah Lippmann La Vie En Rose / You gotta have that sheer milky pink polish to put on when you can’t think of another color to wear or for just having a fresh light manicure for a kinda no- polish look.  This is my favorite because it has tiny pink shimmers in it, and the DL formula is beautiful.

Essie Geranium / The perfect mix of bright red and orange! I wore this on my toes.

Sally Hansen Lush Lavender + Sinful Colors Thera Pewter / I just used Sally Hansen Lush Lavender because the Sinful Colors shade is kind of see through on it’s own. It’s a periwinkle version of a milky sheer polish with silver sparkles. It’s pretty on it’s own if you want a sheer manicure, but I wanted it opaque.  Putting down the Lavender base saved me from having to do like four coats.

OPI Next Stop the Bikini Zone

OPI Next Stop the Bikini Zone / Almost everything I wore this month was shimmery! I guess it was just my summer to fall transition shade of choice.  This is such a cool light purple with gold and silver sparkles.  This was put on because I wore a blush pink dress to a wedding and I thought it would be a good match.

Color Club Hot Hot Hot Pants / This has been on my toes for the past two or three weeks. It’s still going strong and it has no chips.  I was prepared to repaint my toes last night but literally they still looked freshly painted so I left it. Hot Hot Hot Pants is thee most light neon peach pink that you can get. I researched really hard to find the best one, and this is it. It is the perfect summer neon shade, but it looks so good year round of course.

OPI It’s a Piazza Cake

OPI It’s a Piazza Cake / Ideal fall burnt orange pumpkin shade. This is a bold reddened orange, not at all muted with brown. It was probably my favorite color that I used this month.

Now it’s the first day of October and everything is already better.  At the grocery store there were decorative gourds and corn stalks, Halloween oreos, Tillamook Pumpkin Cookie Butter ice cream, pumpkin spice cream cheese, candy corn, and pumpkin candies. I was in heaven and had a hard time sticking to my grocery list. The Tillamook ice cream ended up coming home with me.  Is Tillamook just an Oregon brand? It’s amazing and I hope it’s popular everywhere! I highly recommend the Tillamook Cheese Factory as a great Oregon tourist destination.  Small Oregon fall tangent over.

I’m excited to continue this series!! Last night I already painted on another color to start off October right but I’ll wait to tell you what it is next month! 😉
