Travel Makeup Bag | Work Trip

Currently I’m on a work trip and realized that I brought an ultra minimal amount of makeup.  For me, this is super bare bones.  Usually I love taking the opportunity on any trip to do glam makeup in the hotel bathroom and bring all my favorite products.  This time was a little different because I’ll be in lots of work meetings and when I packed, I was also getting ready to go to a party with my friends so all my super glam makeup was already being used.  To be honest I wasn’t the most excited to travel this time, so I just threw the necessities I would need to look presentable together and went. I’ll go through my base, brows, eyes, and lip products that I’ll be using while I’m away from home.

Base

Origins Ginzing Moisturizer / I have a sample of this that works with the proper airplane under 3 oz rule.  It works very well under makeup but I am definitely missing my Egyptian Magic.

NYX Angel Veil Primer / This is such a great drugstore primer.  I went through a few bottles in the past, but got distracted by other products and didn’t repurchase.  For the bridal party makeup I did last month I bought a bottle to use on the girls.  I’m loving it again and my foundation stayed on from 6AM to 5PM in muggy 87 degree weather.

Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream / Holy grail!

It Cosmetics CC Cream / I brought this for some extra SPF and to mix with the Covergirl in case my self tan didn’t last since it is in the shade light. Today I just used the Covergirl BB Cream but used It Cosmetics CC under my eyes to brighten.

Tarte Aquacealer / This is a nice concealer for everyday.  It isn’t super heavy duty like their Shape Tape so it’s great if that one is too much for you.

LORAC Porefection Powder / I have been using this powder forever and really love it.  It is baked so it absorbs oils really well.  The color I have is a bit too light for me so I just used a light dusting along with my RCMA No Color Powder

MAC Studio Fix Powder / This is SO light so I use it to set my under eyes.  It kept my under eyes set in place but not cakey or too dry all day.

Colourpop Topaz Bronzer duo / I really like the bronzer in this duo and will be using the gold for an inner corner highlight tomorrow.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate / Ok so this is a sample and I am using it for a contour because it is a tad less orange than Colourpop, but I’m not that into it.  Everyone raves so hardcore about this bronzer but I don’t really get the hype… Maybe I got a dud? It confuses me because people are obsessed with it!

Rockateur Blush / I always bring this blush when I don’t really care how I look lol.  I prefer matte bronzers lately, so I’m really just trying to use this up. It’s a really pretty color and gives a little glow, but I won’t be repurchasing it when I finish it.

Becca Opal /  Traveling with highlighters always freaks me out because I’m terrified they will shatter. Particularly Becca blushes are risky since they are so creamy and softly milled. This sample size one comes in a plastic container and is small so it isn’t so delicate and it’s one of my favorite highlight shades of all time.

Ulta Matte setting spray / I have been meaning to try this setting spray for a while now and bought it for the bridal party makeup.  So far I really love it. It definitely gives my skin a matte finish!  I put it on before and after foundation today and I think it helped the makeup hold up.

Eyes & Brows

Juvia’s Place Palette / I packed the Tartelette in Bloom palette before replacing it with this one.  This is one of the newest palettes in my collection and I already love it.  The colors challenge me to do something a little more out of the box than usual, but it still has classic colors to use for an easier look.  I actually had to check my bag and this didn’t break in transit thank God! *Knocking on wood* that it will survive the trip home.

Essence I <3 Extreme mascara / This mascara is so nice! It has a plastic comb that helps keep my lashes from clumping.

NYX Control Freak brow gel / I use this for brows and also to set my lower lashes to keep the mascara from smudging.  It is a great multi- purpose product for me.

ABH Pencil / I’m not a fan of mechanical pencil style brow products like the ABH brow wiz, but this sharpen-able one is nice to have on hand for when I don’t have the energy to do my brows with a spooley, brush, and pomade.  I just dyed my brows darker so I can get away with less product than normal, so I just threw the pencil in to define my arches a bit.

Sephora Collection Colorful Shadow + Liner pencil / This is my second favorite eye liner formula pencil of all time. (Marc Jacobs is #1)

Kat Von D Ink Liquid Liner / This is also for my brows/ I forgot liquid liner so I used this today for a mini wing. I prefer brush tip liners so I kinda suck at doing a wing with this, but it worked.

All the brushes I brought if you were curious

For lip products I didn’t grab anything extra out of my drawers, just using what was already in my purse makeup pouch.  Today I wore Nudestix Mystic and some NYX Plump it Up Gloss.

I’m still a bit amazed at the small amount of products here. I was kind of frazzled/ rushed/ zoned out when I packed.  Usually I take enough to fill up half my duffel bag but I guess I was just going through grabbing enough products for one look.  It totally works though and I don’t feel myself really in need of anything else this time. To be honest though the best part of my day was taking all this makeup off and relaxing in the hotel king bed.
