Things I’d Like To Tell Myself as a Teenager

After watching 21 Jump Street the other night, I started thinking about what I would do differently if I went back to high school.  I compiled a little list of advice I would give myself if I could.  I even found some extremely embarrassing Myspace selfies from back then….

Start a makeup/hair/ lifestyle blog.  You don’t have to tell anyone… just do it.  That relaxed feeling you get from journaling can become a hobby.

Don’t get upset about sucking at sports. Join a team to hang out with friends, but don’t stress out and just have fun and consider it a good workout. Don’t do basketball though, you won’t make the same team as your friends and it’s just a lost cause.

Stop buying Abercrombie and Hollister…. Zumiez and PacSun are okay I guess but cut the logos.

Leave your hair color alone and get trims every once in awhile. Dark brown is fine, no bleach.  Let it air dry more often and limit the straightening iron use to once a week.

Stop getting mad at your friends for having shitty boyfriends. They’re learning too and it’s not worth the drama.

Take vitamins and drink water. Caramel frappuccinos and Chewy bars are very unhealthy.

Go to the gym with dad and mom- bring a book or magazine on the elliptical. It’s more productive than laying around watching tv.

Less Burt’s Bees Lifeguard’s Choice, more gloss.

Save your money and learn to paint your nails, no more acrylics.

Stick with Jergens or L’oreal Sublime Bronze rather than tanning beds. Use SPF on your face every day under makeup.

Acne sucks but no one notices it as much as you do. Wash all your makeup off, tone, and use face lotion.

This might sound INSANE, but stop plucking your brows so much.

Apply for jobs at makeup counters, it will save you money on makeup and introduce you to people in an industry you will wish you worked in.

Eat 1300 calories per day and you’ll be a healthy weight.  No need to feel guilty over complicating how to lose weight. (Still working on this one currently!)

Go to bed early on school nights.  Nothing good happens after 9pm.

Spread positivity to others (and yourself!)

Generously tell and show friends and family how much they mean to you. Focus on the important people in your life rather than acquaintances and others you think you need to impress. The latter means nothing.

This made me start wondering what my future 50 year old self would want to tell me now as a 26 year old… Something to think about!

I really enjoyed reading this.. And it does get you thinking about what my 50 year old self would want to tell me now in my 20s! I would do so many things differently if I was to go back to school… though given the chance I still think I’d give it a miss! 😂

views of all mates about this paragraph, while I am also eager of
    getting know-how.
