January 2018 Nail Polishes

January Nail picks

I’m a little late in posting my January nail picks this month.  I hope I’m not the only one interested in why people pick certain nail colors so I figured I’d still post my list.

OPI My Private Jet / This is a staple for a lot of people and has been a classic for years.  While it looks a little boring in the bottle, it just has something special when it is applied. I think everyone needs this! KL Polish came out with a dupe of this called Cassiopeia that has a lot more sparkle that I may try when I run out of my OPI version.

Sally Hansen Plums The Word / It feels like I wear this almost every month, but I can’t help reaching for it! Everytime I go through my nail polish collection to pick out a color my eye is drawn to this dusty plum shade. I discovered it a couple years ago after seeing Jaclyn Hill wearing it.

OPI Plums The Word

Sinful Colors Super Nova / This shade is the perfect shimmer.  Sometimes it looks gold, sometimes silver. There was a point in college where I repainted my nails this color for like a month or two straight, so I’m a big fan.  This is one that I always go to when I don’t want to have to worry about repainting my nails for awhile because chips are hard to see on it.

China Glaze Are You Orchid-ing Me / I wore this on my toes because I love pastel pedicures. It looked awesome after I fake tanned, but I wore my Steve Madden loafers and the shoes rubbed black onto my nails, ruining them.  Annoying but awesome shoes if you have on dark polish.

OPI Chick Flick Cherry / Classic deep red great for any time of the year.

Essie Vested Interest / Oddly I have had this color a really long time and have never worn it, at least from what I remember. Essie polishes that have the skinny brush are not my favorite to apply. Vested Interest was worth it though, because it has a really bright blueish green base that makes it stand out more than some of my other khaki tealish colors.

Wet N’ Wild Haze of Love / Every time I wear a Wet N’ Wild polish, I wish I owned more of them.  The formula is so good on this one that I painted my nails and toes with it.  It lasts about a week on my hands without chipping on me.

That’s it! I’d love to know what polish you’re currently wearing or if you enjoy any of the ones I mentioned here.  Have a great week and thank you for reading.

Formula X is my favourite of all the land. Not wearing anything currently but I do love their original formula.

I’m currently wearing Gone Glamping by China Glaze from their fall 2015 collection. It’s a silvery green with gold shift. Nice break from my usual vampy nails.

Thanks for sharing! I recently started painting my own nails but I find that my nail polish chips so easily. I just tried the Sally Hansen gel polishes one of the lighter shades lasted almost a week but a darker shade last about a day and the chipping started. My search continues!

Essie Gel Couture Platinum top coat is a game changer for me! That plus a base coat (I use Essie’s too) really helps.
