The Kylie lip kits continue to surprise me everytime I get a new one. Recently I placed an order for Kylie, the new shade that launched a couple weeks ago. Kylie Cosmetics is good at launching colors that seem wearable, yet unique to the oversaturated lipstick market, while also being bold.
If you bought a Kylie lip kit when they FIRST launched and didn’t like it, give them another try. Over the years they have reformulated to a product that lasts forever and isn’t streaky. I get the best application by wearing chapstick as I apply the rest of my makeup, then putting on the lip liner, then the liquid lipstick.
I have a lot of nude liquid lipsticks, and I find myself reaching for the Kylie ones the most out of my collection when I’m going out. These last through eating, drinking, and being out for awhile.
When I order or buy a new liquid lipstick, I get a tiny pang of guilt because likely I already have something sort of similar. I was surprised that I don’t seem to have a dupe of Kylie in my collection yet. Online it kind of looked like the typical light nude shade, but my thought process was that if they named it “KYLIE” it had to be really good.
My order showed up the day of a concert I was going to, so I wore out to the show that night. I was in love with the color right off the bat- it’s the perfect mauve bubblegum color. Sometimes when I’m looking for a color like this, they are too purple or dark. This one is light without being that unwearable pale pink. The lipstick lasted all night without me having to reapply.
What I love the most about this is that the liner doesn’t perfectly match the lipstick, which makes it extremely wearable and flattering. The liner is a light creamy brown- like cardboard shade. Weird way to describe something I know but it’s the perfect description! It balances out the pink in the liquid lipstick perfectly though.
If you’re wanting to pick up a Kylie lip kit, I think this shade would be really flattering on a lot of different skin tones. It’s something different that I think will be a good addition to people’s makeup collections, and it’s a color that I will personally be getting a lot of wear out of.
