Recently one of my friends asked me to take her makeup shopping, so I prepped a list of products that are my must haves. There are so many products that I use and love, but I really narrowed it down to the amazing ones that I could 100% recommend. I then tailored it specifically to what I thought she would like and that would look good on her. I thought it could be helpful to share my list here because these are pretty much my staple products that I use when I’m doing other people’s makeup that are basically universally flattering.
To take it a step further, I added a column to my list of affordable alternatives. Personally I feel like the average person doesn’t need high end makeup- especially if you’re not getting flash photography done. While I love high end products, I prefer to use them on the special occasions. If you want suggestions for a makeup shopping list, screenshot this list and go to Sephora, Ulta, Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc..
For reference, the friend that I made this for has normal to oily skin, blonde hair, green eyes, a light/medium skin tone, and likes light shimmery bridal- style makeup looks. Of course I wouldn’t expect her to get everything I suggested, and I don’t know what she currently owns. I liked the idea of having a category for everything, so wherever there is a gap in her collection, she can reference suggestions. We are going on a couple trips together next month where I plan to do her makeup quite a bit, and these will help pump up her makeup bag a bit for that and any other events she has coming up.
Thank you so much for reading! Hope this helps you out if you’re in the mood to makeup shop.
