I would describe my ideal perfect scent as a melted warm sugar vanilla toasted caramel smoky marshmallow with a dash of Abercrombie Fierce. One day I would love to create my own fragrance. All of the perfumes below embody that in their own way.
My perfume style definitely changes with the seasons, but these are year round staples no matter what the temperature is. I won’t attempt to write out too many descriptions since you obviously need to smell them yourself to experience them. If you know me you know I love makeup, but I love fragrance just as much. Even if I don’t leave my house, I still wear perfume everyday and don’t feel complete without it.
If you love perfume, I recommend checking out Fragrantica.com. I have spent hours browsing that website. Search for a perfume, scroll down, and see what other perfumes are similar, have the same top notes, etc.
Kayali Vanilla 28 / Definition of warmth in a bottle. This makes me so happy whenever I spray it, and I can’t recommend it enough. I seriously can’t imagine someone disliking this.
Dossier Musky Musk – Dupe for Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume- literally indescribable.
Pacifica Sugared Amber & Island Vanilla / These are an awesome affordable option. If you like vanilla, this is definitely a staple to have in your collection. Sugared Amber Dreams (may be discontinued unfortunately) has the perfect toasty melted sugar note I absolutely love. Island Vanilla is a lovely simple vanilla.
Ariana Grande Ari / So underrated. Everyday delicious marshmallow scent.
Ariana Grande Cloud 2.0 / This has musk listed as a top note, which throws me off to hear because musk sounds disgusting to me. This might make no sense, but I would describe it as a sparkling aromatic warm scent. Cloud is famously known as a dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540.
Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay / This fragrance strays outside the theme of this list. It is crisp and fresh, rather than warm and gourmand. There’s something cozy and nostalgic about this scent that makes me love it though. This was my wedding day scent.
Kilian Princess / Top three favorite scent for me. I don’t even know how to describe it but it makes me feel rich when I wear it. Alex, if you’re reading this I’d love the full size bottle for my birthday lol.
Sol De Janeiro 62 / This is popular for a reason. Love the clean summery vibe this one has and it’s a mood booster for me
Sol De Janeiro 40 / Very similar to Kayali Vanilla- pretty and warm.
Skylar Vanilla Sky / Simple beautiful vanilla heaven. Reminds me of warm vanilla sugar by Bath & Body Works, but way better.
Clinique Cocoa & Cashmere / This one has the coziest vibe to it. Unfortunately the lasting power isn’t great.
Mac Creme D’Nude / Description from the website: A scent capturing the vibrant sexiness of clean, radiant, glowing skin through a cocoon of velvet musk.
If I had to choose a top five to wear for the rest of my life, I’d go with Kayali Vanilla, Kilian Princess, and Replica By The Fireplace, Skylar Vanilla Sky, and YSL Libre. Separately from this post’s list, I also love the category of fragrances that are summer coconut/ sunscreen/ tropical themed. (Juliette Has a Gun Pear, SUN di Gioia, etc.) Let me know if you want a post about those.
