Summer Mattes | Kim&Makeup

I wanted to feature this makeup because it is my go- to daytime look of the moment.  This look is made up of mustard and orangey browns, a bright white matte inner corner, and winged liner.  I mentioned these eye shadows from Makeup Geek in my monthly favorites, so here they are in action.   Everything about this is so simple, but I feel like when I wear this, I feel confident in how my makeup looks and it’s always fool- proof.  Although there’s nothing dramatic or insanely different, this is a versatile look that goes well with a simple outfit or any lip color. Sometimes you just need to find an easy technique that won’t let you down, and for me, this is it!

 How I achieved this look:

Shadows

Anastasia Custard as a transition shade

Makeup Geek Tiki Hut and Chickadee blended in the crease ( built up over and over and over)

Kat Von D Liberatus (matte white) from Shade + Light Eye Palette

Liner

NYC liquid eyeliner

Benefit Eye Bright on waterline

Too Faced Black eyeliner pencil for tightline

MAC Costa Riche blended out on the outer half under the eye

Complexion

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done

Amazing Cosmetics Concealer (obsessed with this)

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation to Set

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer

Nars Goulue Blush

Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter + MAC Oh Darling mixed

Lip

Anastasia Pure Hollywood + Milkshake mixed

I love layering the Makeup Geek shadows to get that tawny yellowy shade.  I blended those all over the crease,  onto the lid, and under the eyes.  Lately I have been going for a pop of white in the inner corner that is matte rather than shimmery.  Especially for this look, where I wanted to stay all matte, it adds just enough brightness.

Next, I would love to play up this look for night time by adding in some black on the outer V or deepening the crease with Bobbi Brown Camel, another mustard brown I’m obsessed with. If you’re into the mustard/ orange thing like me, check out the new Melt Cosmetics Rust Stack! It has this shadow “Rubbish” that is another rich mustard brown shade that I “need”.
If you try this look, I hope you fall as in love with it as I have!
