I have talked about how I usually like to do my own manicures at home. It has been probably about two years or so since I went to a nail salon to pay someone else to paint my nails. While I love the amount of money I save/ get to spend on other things, it is my birthday next month and I am planning on treating myself to a gel/ shellac (are they different?) manicure. I am really looking forward to having something that won’t chip.
Since this is a one time thing, I thought that maybe I would get something more unique than just a standard one- color all over paint job. Something I can’t paint myself are designs. I usually like minimal- style nails best, but since it is my birthday I think it will be fun to switch it up just this once. Below are some cute designs I have seen on Pinterest that I am picking from.
This design is adorable and a bit edgy/ trendy- right up my alley.
This is a funky yet simple choice that gives a nod to my love of glam and beauty. I would probably do one hand painted white with two fingers like shown of lashes in black, then the opposite on the other hand- black nails with two white lashes.
These are such a cute throwback. I remember trying to paint little dot flowers on my hands with my friends as a kid. The print is cute and busy. The dress I will be wearing has a mixture of prints on it, so I like the idea of adding another.
I saw these on Amanda Ensing recently and became obsessed. These Instas are from the nail place I will be going next week, so I might give this design a try.
For this one, I would just do one cute cat on all black nails. My cat is black with yellow eyes, and rules my life so I would love to have his cute little face on my hands.
Negative Space Half Moon
This one is my favorite. I love the idea of having something that won’t show my grow out so I can milk this design as long as possible. If I go for this, on the colored portion I would do either pastel pink, red, black, or white.
Knowing myself, I may walk out of there with simple just all white nails and be so happy with it. Treat yo self.
UPDATE 6/30/16: Got the half moon shape!
