Trying New Products! Copper & Purple Eyes

For this look, I tried out two new products: House of Lashes Queen B falsies, and Tarteist Lip Paint in Texas Toast.  Texas Toast is Tarte’s collaboration with YouTuber Graveyard Girl.  The line of products she did with them is absolutely beautiful!  I felt lucky to get one of the lip paints because they sold out super quickly.  Snagging product launches first is one benefit of spending too much time on Instagram…

As for the eyes, I planned to stick to using just one palette to create the whole look, but I got glitter happy and dipped into Tequila Sunset by Glitter Injections.  The Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette is a beautiful mix of warm tone browns, copper, and purple shadows.  It has been awhile since I have done a colorful look, so this was fun to play with.   Without the glitter I would consider this look nice for daytime- maybe not work necessarily since it was pretty glam, but definitely for a fun event.

My favorite part of the whole look were these Queen B lashes!!! I have a love- hate relationship with false lashes.  I love that they majorly pump up any look like nine levels, but sometimes dramatic ones drag down my eyes, are uncomfortable, hide my eye shadow, and make me feel like my lashes are Sesame Street Snuffleupagus droopy.  I have to go light handed with mascara on my natural lashes to make them work.  The Queen B lashes were a dream to put on because they have a lightweight band, are long (which I love), and really added to the look.  If you are like me and struggle to find dramatic falsies that still make you feel bright eyed, check these out.

For my complexion, I was excited to get to my eyes so I kept it really simple.  Born This Way foundation is what I reach for when I need something reliable, full coverage, and matte.  Amazing Cosmetics concealer is still my ultimate favorite, so I highlighted under my eyes with it and set that with Ben Nye’s pink powder.  It is a really good powder to use when you are tan and don’t want to look WHITE under your eyes, but still need brightness.  With all the colors I was about to apply on the eyes and lips, I decided Dallas blush by benefit would be a good neutral color.   Makeup details:
