Ride or Die Tag: High End Edition

This tag was created by Jaclyn Hill, and it is an awesome idea- pick one product from each category that is the best of the best.  To make these choices, I just imagined literally having to throw away all of my makeup except for these products, and having to wear a face of makeup with these products every day for the rest of my life.

I really love the concept of this tag because it lets you know what is REALLY worth spending money on in the vast makeup world.  I can’t wait to see more people do this tag to find out what is really worth buying.  So many new products come out, but it is more useful to know the tried and true products out there.  Later on I will be making a drugstore version of this tag, but for now, here are all my ride or die high end makeup products.

Primer // Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer

This keeps my foundation flawless in a way that no other primers have before.

Foundation // It Cosmetics CC Cream

Part of me wants to pick a foundation with a beautiful full coverage finish *cough Urban Decay All Nighter or Makeup Forever HD Stick, cough*, but I went with this because it is the one foundation that I know I can’t live without, use the most, and have repurchased.  This one gives me a healthy glow with full coverage, and I feel less guilty caking it on all over because it still lets my skin breathe and has some benefits.  I would have no problem being forced to use this everyday for the rest of my life.

Concealer // Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer

Full coverage, creamy, not dry, dewy, blendable, doesn’t move, brightens, doesn’t crack.  I love this because the tiniest amount gives great results.

Face powder // Lorac POREfection Baked Powder

My favorite way to apply this powder is with a fluffy duofiber brush.  Keeps foundation on my oil slick skin, is never cakey, and helps out with my crater pores.  This powder can make the crappiest foundation look 10x better.

Undereye Setting powder // Bare Minerals Well Rested

Bare Minerals knows how to do powder. This stuff is extremely brightening under the eye.

Blush // Tarte Amazonian Clay Sensual

This blush will always be a staple in my collection. It literally goes with every look!

Bronzer // Guerlain Terracota Bronzing Powder Color 7

If I have to pick only one I might as well go big right?

Highlight // Anastasia Beverly Hills Sweets Glow Kit

Butterscotch and Marshmallow are holy grail. I would miss my Kat Von D Thunderstruck, but having these two would keep me happy. This beams from the cheekbones and flashes so well when I move around.

Mascara // Not applicable, I’m a cheapskate drugstore girl when it comes to mascara.

Lip Pencil // Makeup Forever Aqua Lip Waterproof 3C

Creamy, long lasting, doesn’t bleed, beautiful color.

Lipstick // MAC Velvet Teddy

This is HARD. This color is what I reach for on a very regular basis, but I can name better formulas than MAC.  Overall though, Velvet Teddy is my #1 favorite color of all my lipsticks, though- not too dark or light, can lean either warm or cool toned depending on the rest of the look, matte, pigmented, comfortable.  It looks good with a tan or when I am just my normal pale-ish beige skintone.

Liquid Lip // Dose of Colors Truffle

This color is everything. Formula isn’t the #1 most comfortable out there, but the staying power is great.

Gloss // Soap & Glory Sexy Motherpucker XL Extreme Plump

I’m all about the plump.

Lashes // House of Lashes Bambie

Queen Bs are a close second.

Eye Primer // Urban Decay Enigma

I love the applicator, the creamy shade as a great base, and it’s amazing formula for keeping my shadows perfect. Enigma was limited edition so I linked Eden here.

Eyeshadow palette // Tarte Swamp Queen Palette

I have switched my answer so many times on this category, but am finally landing on the Tarte palette. The colors in this palette are beautiful and flattering for daily use.

Setting Spray // Makeup Forever Mist + Fix

This gives you Barbie skin.

I went back and forth so much on so many of these, but those are my final top high end makeup products.  It would be really unfortunate if I actually had to get rid of everything else I own in my collection, so fingers crossed that doesn’t occur.  If someone asked me what I would recommend for them to get when they are building their collection- these are the things I would suggest to them.
