Affordable Office Makeup & Work Day Routine

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a great weekend. Right now I’m snowed in over here in Portland. Freezing rain is coming down at the moment so I might get an extended weekend if this keeps up… I hate being stuck at home! I grocery shopped yesterday in preparation for the storm, so I have some time to do an extra post today. 🙂

If you are familiar with my blog, you know I don’t wear makeup to work.  My weekday mornings go like this:

  1. Wake up & put on the workout clothes I packed the night before, grab my lunch and head out.
  2. Drive to the gym and do 30 min to an hour of a workout (length depends on how many times I have hit snooze.)
  3. Shower at the gym and dress for work- usually a t-shirt, jeans, & sweater combination.
  4. When I’m in the car, I use a Nip + Fab Glycolic wipe all over my face, let that dry, and put on SPF.
  5. Arrive at work at 7, chug coffee, go about my day.

Two weeks ago I realized that I didn’t use much paid time off in 2016 so I took a half day.  While I would have loved to do a full day off, I work with a sales team that is very busy at the end of December. I needed to be there at least part of the day so I went to work after lunch.  Since I had the morning off, I took advantage of the time to actually get ready for work and put on makeup.  I think it had been something like three months since I have worn any makeup in the office.
I decided to film the makeup and show the products I used.  I did what I used to do when I wore makeup for work- I used the cheap stuff.  Something about wasting my “nice” brands on work doesn’t sit with me right.  How I see it, expensive makeup is for fun things- dinners, night out, events, etc.

I miss having a job where I could wear jeans every day. I just feel more productive when I’m comfortable.
