Latest Beauty & Style Purchases

Hello!  Recently my work weeks have felt extra long, and my shopping bug tends to kick in on slow afternoons. Spring is coming approaching, and I “need” some fun transition pieces to kick up my wardrobe. I thought it would be fun to share the purchases that I have ordered in the past few weeks. Looking at them now, I basically picked out a whole outfit without the intention of doing so.  Keep reading to hear all about how I justify beauty and fashion items >.<

Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion

I headed to Sephora this past weekend to do a return, so of course I needed to pick out something new to replace it.  I originally intended to pick up the shade 2 Golden, but when I was comparing with 1 Golden Pink, I knew this one was more unique to my collection. It gives a beautiful light gold pink sheen on the cheeks, and is NOT metallic. It has a unique formula like the MUFE Pro Fusion bronzer- you have to dig in a bit to get the right amount of pigment to show up on your brush/ skin. I feel very “lit from within” when I wear it.  I have been wearing it as an eye shadow too.

Lulus Wine Jacket

Recently when I went on a business trip, I realized I have no “dressy” coats other than my suede BLANKNYC jacket, which is a little edgy for some occasions. I love the maroon color of this flowy jacket and can’t wait to wear it to work or out over a dress.  I know I will be getting a TON of use out of it. I got an XL because I want it to be oversized, plus my shoulders are massive.

Free People Mini backpack

My most exciting purchase is this purse.  I have been eyeing the Coach Swagger 21 bag- it’s a structured mini black tote bag that looks so versatile and kind of “rockerish” to me, but it’s $350. I don’t splurge when it comes to most of my bags and I just can’t justify it. The Coach bag appealed to me because it is classy and structured, a small- medium size, good to wear with casual outfits too, and cross body so I can be hands- free. Back to this new bag- when I saw it on FreePeople.com, it fit all that same criteria. It also reminds me of a backpack purse that I have been eyeing from Louis Vuitton HERE.  So basically I killed two birds with one stone, and for a whole lot less money. I love the purse backpack trend, but haven’t found an affordable one that I love.  For $50, this mini one perfectly fit the mark and I love the gold clasp closing.

Urban Decay Rock Steady

Rock Steady Vice lipstick by Urban Decay has been on my radar since before Christmas.  The only problem though, is that it is a creme finish. I’m a matte person when it comes to colorful lips. If I wear a dark creamy lipstick, it will be all over my face and water bottle in under an hour. Not down.  Fun tip: You don’t like the finish of a lip product like me?  Swatch it on your hand, then walk over to your nearest MAC and find a dupe lipstick in the same color but a finish you like. The MAC counter girl and I had a fun time swatching like 40 different reds until I found the perfect deepness and undertone.  Well I had a blast, and she got commission.  I bought MAC D for Danger as a matte alternative for creamy Rock Steady.   Anyway, back to the liquid lipstick I bought!  Urban Decay came out with Rock Steady in their new comfort matte liquid formula.  First impression-it felt quite drying but I loved the pigmentation.  The formula is scary long lasting. I usually can clean off my lips with micellar water, but for this I had to go in with Bio Oil.

Sideways Cross Necklace

I broke the everyday necklace that I used to never take off, so my neck has been bare most days.  I feel a little 2007 with this necklace, but I have always loved the tiny sideways cross style. Etsy has tons of cute dainty necklaces, and this one didn’t set me back too much at $30. The shipping was the same day, so I would definitely recommend this seller.

Western Fringe Boots

You can never have too many black booties right? I have never been attracted to a pair of cowboy boots. Ever.  I’m from a small town and try to distance myself from the rodeo princess style that was so prevalent… barf.  Usually I go for sleek boots- no fringe, no studs, no boot scoot boogie.  But these are adorable, and on mega sale on sites like Nordstrom Rack and 6PM.  Volatile is a really comfortable shoe brand that I have liked in the past. I can’t wait to wear these with shorts in summer, and with jeans and a cardigan to work next week.  Now I just need a country concert to wear them to!

That’s it.  Should we add it all up? NOPE. I hope you enjoyed “shopping with me” and I would love to hear about your recent purchases or anything on your wishlist!
