Dose of Colors Lip It Up Review

Dose of Colors Lip It Up satin lipsticks come in a beautiful sleek gold bullet packaging. That feature alone makes it so perfect for pulling out of my bag to reapply during the day, but the formula is nice as well. I received the shades Brulee, Toast, and Mocha for my birthday. I had been chatting with my friend about how the colors Brulee and Toast were “a must” and she surprised me with sending some to my apartment! Such a good gift and I love her for it.

As soon as I applied it the formula reminded me of Bite Amuse Bouche lipsticks.  It doesn’t have the citrus scent, but has a thick creamy consistency. It’s impressively almost like a MAC satin lipstick mixed with a Bite lipstick, two of my favorite moisturizing lipstick formulas. Toast had a tiny bit of a grainy texture when I first applied it, but that went away after using it a few more times. The scent of the Lip it Ups are a classic lipstick perfume fragrance, which is unique since most lipsticks have seemed to be more focused on sweet smells recently.

Wearing Toast

These aren’t the trendy fun lip colors I’d grab to wear on a night out, but for everyday wear they are what I have been reaching for all week.  They are a satin finish so they definitely transfer onto my straws and coffee mug, but that doesn’t bother me much. They are very comfortable and the thick formula feels moisturizing. It wears off slowly over about four hours I would say.  Instead of wearing off weird and patchy, it fades evenly as far as I have noticed. They seem to be a little darker on the lips than how they swatch on my hand, so keep that in mind if you decide to shop for them.

Have a fabulous weekend! I’m finally starting to feel normal again after a long weekend between housesitting, birthday partying, and fourth of July celebrations. Long weekends are amazing but it also makes me appreciate my structured daily routine.
