Makeup Look | Tan & Non-Tan

Confession- I don’t have makeup for my lightest level. Everything I own is for either a healthy dose Banana Boat Summer Color or a deep level of Loving Tan Ultra Dark.

This look did not intentionally start off to be a “with and without fake tan” idea, but ended up that way because I didn’t realize how pale I actually was. I was doing yard work last weekend so I didn’t do my usual self tan regimen because I would have sweat it off anyway, so by Tuesday when I put this makeup on I was back to my lightest level.  I tried to use a light-ish powder because I was lighter than usual but I got heavy handed with Maybelline Fit Me powder in Mocha, which I have been LOVING as a contour/ bronzer product. I thought I could get away with putting on a high neck shirt so you couldn’t tell I was so mismatched but the pics just weren’t turning out and I had the idea for this post. Thought it would be kind of fun to do the same look for both my lighter tone, and my deepest.

No surprised that I preferred how I look for the “tan” version when I added some Fake Bake to my chest and bronzer spray to my face.   My beloved Sephora Bronzer mist has been discontinued but I switched to using their foundation spray in the darkest shade as a replacement. It’s not as nice or sheer as the bronzer spray was, but I’m not trying to shell out $70 for the Guerlain bronzer spray so it will have to do.

COMPLEXION| MAC natural radiance yellow primer, COVERGIRL outlast 3in1 foundation, NARS concealer, MAYBELLINE better skin powder all over, BEN NYE pink powder under eye, MAYBELLINE fit me cocoa powder as contour, BECCA opal highlight

EYES| SMASHBOX eye base, VISEART warm mattes orange & peach, KVD black shadow in shade + light palette, ARTIST COUTURE coco bling inner corner, MAYBELLINE color tattoo eye chrome in Gilded rose on lower lash line, BENEFIT eye bright waterline, ESSENCE I love extreme mascara, KOKO Stella lashes

BROW| COLOURPOP auburn pomade & mittens shadow

LIP| MAC soar & CIATE pin up

One little trick I did that I thought I’d mention is putting a dot of shimmer in the center of my lower lashline. I like to do this for events sometimes because when I smile it brings brightness to my eyes, especially when the rest of my shadow is matte.  Here I used Maybelline Eye Chrome and set the cream with Artist Couture Coco Bling highlighter.

For this look I wore the Ciate liquid lipstick in Pin Up. I have seen this lipstick so often and never picked it up because I wasn’t familiar with the formula.  I used a Sephora giftcard to get it last week and I’m happy to report it is ultra comfortable, pigmented, and lasted nicely. Definitely one of my new go- tos and I plan on wearing it to a bridal shower this weekend! Thank you for reading and have a great Friday Eve.
