Face Masks for Oily Skin

I try to do a mask once or twice a week at least. I have found a few that I absolutely love and aren’t overpriced. I can confidently recommend all of these for oily acne prone skin.

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask / This is a lifetime supply product. Add equal parts apple cider vinegar to about ¾ of a teaspoon of the powder and you have a mask that tightens and pulls ALL the gunk out in about 20 minutes. It gets so tight you feel a pulsing from the blood going to your face. It’s intense! This is a must have for clogged pores.  I ordered this in 2015 and it’s still pretty much full.  Make sure to moisturize after using this one because it’s pretty intense.Processed with VSCO with f2 presetPeter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask / This one has AHA so it stings for a few moments right when you apply it, but those acids are great for congested skin. It feels very hydrating at the same time, and I’m a pumpkin addict so the smell of this one gets me. It is described as a “resurfacer” which is totally true. It feels like I’ve just had a facial peel afterwards. The link is for a WAY reduced price on Amazon. Don’t get overcharged at Sephora!

Jack Black Glycolic Deep Dive Facial Cleanser / Love that this is a two in one product. There’s no burning or stinging with this ash mask and the glycolic acid is lightly exfoliating.

Sorry that’s gross I know but I love that it’s pulling out the crap that is sitting deep in my skin!

I wash them off with my hands and warm water, then go in with a piping hot washcloth to steam my face and exfoliate my skin.  Don’t skimp on masking- it definitely makes a difference and pampering yourself is never a bad thing. Read about the rest of my oily skincare routine here.

I try to do a weekly mask too but sometimes I’m just lazy. I love the Queen Helene Mint Julep mask. It’s a classic and it works. I also love the mattifying & anti-blemish green tea sheet masks from Sephora. I just got some charcoal sheet masks from The Creme Shop (great Korean skincare brand) that I can’t wait to try.
