Best of Becca Cosmetics

This post is all about the brand known for making products designed to glow. Becca Cosmetics is a high end brand that I can’t help myself from splurging on, and I love their range of highlighters. becca cosmetics

Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid / They are known for their powder highlighters, and they do them well in a liquid format too. I bought the champagne pop liquid because I like the color so much, and it works beautifully mixed in with foundation, applied onto my cheeks as a base for powder highlight, or mixed into body lotion for giving my legs a little glow.

Undereye brightening corrector / I swore this product was a dud for about a year, but after giving it a try a few months ago I realize I was totally wrong. This was big on Youtube a few years back, and I loved it when I first got it.  It has an odd texture, but how I like to use it is to get a small dab on my finger, warm it up, and apply a thin layer under each eye. Blend out with a damp sponge, then apply your concealer on top. It makes a lovely base for concealer, and I almost consider it a primer in that way. My concealer used to blend away really patchy when I wasn’t using the Becca corrector underneath.  You only need a little of this at a time so the small jar lasts forever.

Becca Evermatte Primer / This is the most mattifying primer I have every tried, but it takes some getting used to. Unlike most primers that are easy to smooth on like a moisturizer, I take a dab of the Evermatte primer, warm it up on my fingers, and dab it on where I get oily (basically all over my face) and just pat it on gently.  It makes me ultra matte and is basically a glue that absorbs any oils.  It’s annoying that it’s a little tricky to work with, but it is worth it to me.

Bronzer / Becca released new bronzers this spring and they are gorgeous. The shade range is beautiful, and I picked up Maui Nights because it was a deep reddish bronze. It reminds me a lot of MAC Sunpower, and I can really only use it as a bronzer when I am ultra tanned. When I’m lazy with the self tan, I just use it as a blush.  The formula is beautiful for either purpose and blends out effortlessly.

Blush / They are famous for their blushes- they have shimmery and matte finishes in a gorgeous pigmented range of colors. Wild Honey is the shade I have, and it is a warm brown peach in a satin finish.  Definitely one of the best blush formulas I own.

Powder Highlighters / The product that made them famous, Becca highlighters are creamy powders that pick up well on a brush and blend out beautifully on the cheeks, nose, anywhere. They pop brightly on skin and come in beautiful shades. Opal is one of my all time favorite colors to use as either a highlight or shadow color.  I put off buying Champagne Pop for almost a year after it was released. Even as a fan of Jaclyn Hill, I thought it was just another gold highlighter. When I finally took a good look at it though, I saw that it had pink and peach mixed in with the gold that made it ideal for my skin tone, and much more unique than I originally thought. It is worth all the hype it has received. The shade Pearl is beautiful on fair skin.

I’ll mention one product that I bought but didn’t end up liking for my skin tone- the Chrissy Teigan x Becca palette. I was looking forward to getting the bronzer, blush, and Beach Nectar highlight shade. The Rose Gold highlight is too dark for my skin tone, but I thought I could make it work as an eyeshadow. Unfortunately Beach Nectar came off as really sheer on me- I was expecting a Peach Base with a silver reflect, but it was more of a translucent sheen. It looks beautiful as a subtle highlight, but not the effect I was going for. Not a bad product whatsoever, but not for me.

That’s all I’ve tried from Becca for now, and I’m looking forward to sampling their new Velvet Blurring Primer when it is out.  The liquid crystal glow glosses are also on my wish list.

I own the pressed powder versions of Opal, Moonstone & Champagne Pop and the liquid versions of Opal & Moonstone. I think liquid Opal is my fave. I want one of those new duochrome ones though – specifically the Opal Flashes Jade one. I swatched it in Sephora and about died. It’s so gorgeous.

I don’t own a single Becca product, no idea why, because I’m so drawn to their highlighters. I’ve got to invest in their products asap!

I recently picked up a mini of Opal & love it. I swatched the Chrissy Teigen one in store but wasn’t tempted 🙁

<3 the mini size! I don't think I've ever actually used up a whole highlighter so it's a great deal.
