I’ll spare a long intro… here’s a breakdown of all the makeup I’ve bought over the past couple months.
NYX Gloomy Days Palette / I have an in depth review of this palette that I posted last week here.
Wet n’ Wild Catsuit liquid lipstick / I love burnt orange pumpkin spice lip shades, and wanted to try a brighter, redder version of orange. I went for Wet N’ Wild Flame of the Game because it looked like a dupe for the gorgeous shades that gave me inspiration- Dose of Colors Hot Fire and Jeffree Star Anna Nicole. We’ll see if I end up being able to pull off orange- it doesn’t go all that great with my coloring when it is too neon. I talked more about orange lipsticks in this post.
Mizon All In One Snail Repair Cream / I plan to use this moisturizer as a base for makeup. Cerave works awesome, but this one is for fancier days. So far I really like it- it sinks in instantly and is unscented. It also has Matrixyl, which I’ve heard is amazing in skincare and makeup primers.
Maybelline Vivid Hot Lacquer / I picked up the shade Tease after seeing a couple Youtubers mention it in as a great nude gloss. The color is my favorite kind of slightly cool toned nude so I’m excited to try it out myself. In the past the name having “lacquer” in it put me off- it makes me think of thick and gooey substances.
Maybelline Big Shot mascara / I am running low on my Essence I <3 Extreme mascara and picked up Big Shot in Baddest Black as a backup. Maybelline mascaras used to be some of my favorites- I used to buy countless tubes of Colossal in the bright yellow tube as a teenager. Makeup by Shayla’s videos have been some of my favorite looks to watch lately so I was influenced by that to pick up her collab with them. So far I like the mascara but it needs like a week to dry out a little bit more before I can tell whether it will be a repurchase or not.
Nars Natural Radiant Longwear foundation / I’ve had this a couple weeks now and absolutely love it. I should not have swatched it on my hand in Sephora because once I did there was no turning back. The coverage and finish was so beautiful I had to buy it. It definitely gets oily on me, but most foundations do and I can’t fault it too much for that. The finish of it is unreal so I can forgive it. I’ll be trying it out next time I go somewhere with my Becca Evermatte primer and Urban Decay Velvetizer to see how if that holds up.
Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner / Kinda didn’t need, but I love Rimmel’s twist up liners and didn’t have this color. The shade 018 Addiction is in the same family (but less brown) as Makeup Forever 3C, which is the best nude lip liner on earth. I feel like I have found such a hidden gem with this!
MAC Mud Wrestler / This super nude lipstick wasn’t a recent purchase, but I didn’t realize I owned it… I was really excited when I found it in my lipstick drawer because I remember wanting this shade when it first came out. Still a little confused about when I bought it.
Evo Mahogany conditioner / For the past few months I have been extra lazy about redyeing my hair. After doing some research on color depositing conditioners, I settled on this one. I plan to use this for when I want some extra red in my hair when I’m going out but don’t have the energy to dye all of it.
Carol’s Daughter shampoo / This is a new to me brand that I’m excited to try. I chose this one because it didn’t have sulfates, was affordable, and smelled good.
Loving Tan / Ulta started carrying Loving Tan! This is one of the best tanners I have ever tried and I picked up the Extra Dark mousse and the Dark 2 Hr Express to have for special events this spring and summer. Having to buy from the Loving Tan website has kept me from using this for awhile now so I’m happy to have it back in my life.
Stila Glitter & Glow / This is my fourth color I have bought of these beautiful Stila glitters. Ballet Baby is a beautiful pink with a silver base. These are worth the hype and nothing beats them!
Essie Platinum Gel Couture / I can’t do my nails without this top coat. This is the third one I’ve repurchased and love how shiny and strong it makes my manicure.
NYX Vivid Brights Creme Color / After seeing LipstickNick use these cream eyeshadows I have had them in my Ulta wishlist. I picked up Rebellious Edge and Bad Blood to use as a base for red and purple looks. Right now I’m very into purple and using this as a base made my look really pop when I tried out Rebellious Edge.
Koko Lashes / I have an issue with not throwing away lashes until they are thrashed. Recently I had a come-to- Jesus moment where I decluttered a bunch that were way past their primer. To restock I tried out Risque and Goddess, two styles that I haven’t bought before. I can tell already that I’ll love Risque, they have the cluster style that I’m a big fan of.
