10 Recent Amazon Beauty Purchases | Wellness, Skin, Makeup

I have to admit that I’ve been on a major Amazon ordering kick. As of this moment I’m banning myself from making any more orders for at least a week because I’ve gone way overboard! There have been some great finds though so I’ll share those and be a bad influence on others. These are the wellness and beauty items that I’ve purchased in the past few months and I may do a food, fitness, and fashion version soon.

Mizon Snail Repair All In One / I get a lot of my random tips and ideas from Reddit, and one day I saw a thread talking about a discontinued holy grail primer. The hero ingredient was Matrixyl, and while I don’t remember what product exactly they were talking about, it sent me on a Googling spree. Through my investigation of the ingredient I found this moisturizer. For everyday use I reach for my Cerave moisturizer under makeup, but on special occasions I use the Mizon. There is no moisturizer I’ve found that acts as a better base for makeup as this. It’s light and sinks in quickly without being greasy. I think this is better than any high end moisturizer and I even like it more than Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base.

Evo Fabuloso Red Conditioner / There are a lot of color intensifying conditioners for red hair, but all the ones I’ve tried don’t do much or are pricey. The Mahogany color from this line is like actually staining red pigment and resaturates my color. I use it as a mask when I want a red shine boost.  There are also other colors available for toning brunette and blonde shades.

Sunprise  Air Finish SPF 50 / Another Reddit find. There was never an SPF that I put much thought into purchasing other than my favorite Jergens Natural Glow Face. Someone mentioned this one as a good one and I’ve heard great things about Korean sunscreens so I gave this a try. I didn’t expect it to be SO mattifying. This stuff doesn’t have moisturizing properties at all and will keep oils at bay all day long which is quite a contrast to the usual greasier sunscreens out there.

L-Lysine Capsules / I have taken Lysine for the past few years when I feel a cold sore coming in on my lip- ugh I’ve gotten them since I’ve been a kid whenever I get randomly knocked in the mouth as some kind of nerve response. But anyway L-Lysine has gotten some hype for being a skincare supplement for acne treatment. I’ve been taking them on a daily basis now for a few months and my breakouts have been reduced dramatically. Along with this I also swear by vitamin A, spearmint, collagen, and fish oil for improving my skin.

Makeup Bag / In January I endured a traumatizing experience where I had put my carry on with my makeup bag in the overhead compartment and the guy after me was trying to force his hard shell case into it too. He was SLAMMING the shit out of my makeup bag and couldn’t hear me with his headphones on when I offered to take out my bag to make room. I almost had a meltdown at the idea of all my favorite single eyeshadows breaking with each slam. The whole flight from Oregon to Virginia I was solemnly mourning the loss of all my palettes and powders. Thankfully nothing was shattered when I opened up my bag! I swore to get a bulletproof makeup bag that would protect my things in a similar reckless situation. I bought a Pelican case but without seeing them in person it’s hard to know which size to get so I sent that back and bought this train case instead. I love this sturdy two compartment box that zips separately and comes with a little mirror. It holds my largest palettes with room to spare and it’s ideal for whenever I’m heading over to a friend’s house to get ready with all my makeup. For extra organization I also have one like this from Sonia Kashuk at Target that tucks everything away neatly.  The selection from them is amazing.

V Magic / Not gonna get too TMI but this stuff is heavenly and really helps with sensitivity. Certain toilet papers are irritating to me which is the most annoying high maintenance issue of all time that I wish I didn’t have. Does anyone else deal with this? *Insert tissue issue pun* but yeah this immediately relieves and heals with simple ingredients- olive oil, avocado oil, sea buckthorn oil, beeswax, honey & propolis blend. P.S. I just Googled sea buckthorn and it’s not what I imagined… I was picturing a bucking seahorse (lol yeehaw) but no.

High Frequency Facial Machine / At the place I get my brows waxed they use this odd glass device to remove redness at the end of the treatment. It was awesome to leave without having crazy red splotches around my brows and the process felt really good. I looked into high frequency machines and uses because they work by zap oxygen into the skin to improve circulation. It also prevented pores from getting irritated and clogged after waxing which can happen since they’ve just been ripped open basically after waxing. Here’s a better description from the product page, “The high frequency machine can be used for disinfection, promoting acne recovery, reducing wrinkles, promote metabolism and blood circulation of your skin and your head.” It comes with a couple attachments for treating different areas of the face and you can also use it on your scalp. I get really bad dry patches on my scalp (probably from not washing my hair enough) and I’m using this to combat them. For my face lather up in Bio Oil and run the wand all over my face and neck. It feels so relaxing and I look glowier afterwards.

Collagen Peptides / My mission in life is to get everyone I know on collagen peptides. I started with capsules, then tried Vital Proteins powders, and now I use these because they’re like half the price. My skin, hair, and nails are benefitting majorly and you can read up on all the benefits it has on digestion, joints, etc. I keep a mini container of the collagen peptide powder in my purse to add to beverages when I’m on the go. You can mix it into basically any liquid but I personally don’t like the flavor in just water. Other than that I can’t even taste it in anything else.

Lash Glue / My favorite lash glue of all time is the Thrive brand, but I don’t always want to spend $16 on glue. I’m the person who applies everyone’s lashes when I’m getting ready with my friends and I do makeup looks with lashes for Instagram so I go through it quickly. I heard about this brand from @Courtmontes on Instagram and really like it. Duo isn’t bad but the one with the brush applicator does NOT come off the base of my lashes which is a big pet peeve for me. The tube one smells like hell so I don’t purchase it even though I do like that it comes off easily.

Foldable Razors / I’m never without these little razors for my DIY dermaplaning. I get my face damp and shave all my peach fuzz away.  Along with scraping away dead skin for the ultimate exfoliation, it makes the best canvas ever for makeup application.  Your foundation and highlight will never look better after shaving. Be extra careful around eyes and brows if you decide to try it!

I was going to include my wishlist and saved items but that was getting really long. I’ll put that in a separate Wishlist Wednesday post sometime. I have an “Influencer List” where I put items I’m eyeing or have bought and use all the time. Check it out here.
