Fall Daytime Glam with Two Bold Lip Options

For this makeup look, I was inspired by a Youtuber’s perfect purple lip look. In MannyMUA’s September Favorites video, he was wearing Jouer Snap Dragon lip cream and it instantly made me want to break out a purple lip. A couple years ago, the first lipstick colors I experimented with outside of nudes were purples! MAC Heroine and Up The Amp were always on my lips when I got ready for a night out. Bold lips have been my favorite to wear lately. My trick to getting the application right is to use a nude lip liner instead of red, purple, brown, anything dark or actually matching to the lipstick. Having a nude liner is so much more easy to adjust if I mess up. Then I go back in with a lip liner in the same color if I need to to perfect the edges.

I didn’t achieve the plum lip I originally had in mind like Manny had on, but instead I went with this bright purple combo I really liked. I think MAC Up The Amp would have been perfect to achieve that with a bit of deep plum lip liner like Nightmoth, but I didn’t think of that until just now. For the second lip option, I used MAC Viva Glam III. I love the matte finish of this lipstick, and the color is so beautiful. It is the perfect brownish burgundy mauve lipstick for fall.
