Over the past two years I’ve been using a lot more “regular” classic lipstick rather than liquid lipsticks. There is definitely a time and a place for a liquid matte though. If I’m in a situation where I’m not going to be able to reapply, liquid lipstick is the way to go. Usually my lip routine is the following: apply lip liner, dab on liquid lipstick, bring a regular lipstick in my purse for touch ups.
One of my all time favorite liquid lipstick formulas is Kylie Cosmetics. The first generation release formula has been improved SO MUCH if you haven’t tried it. It glides on, isn’t too drying, and stays put. The colors and packaging are beautiful as well. I wanted to make this post as a reference for swatches of all my Kylie Matte Liquid lipsticks.
Picking favorites is so hard. I get the least wear out of Mary Jo K because I don’t wear bold colors that often. Libra is SUPER light, so I use that as more of a center of the lip shade. I get tons of wear out of Exposed and Bare since they go with everything. Kylie is the PERFECT cute pink lipstick without being bright. Allergic to Bullshit is my newest color and I’m obsessed with it.
As with all lipsticks in general, the key to making them look great is a lip liner. I need to do a post on my favorite lip liners! Kylie’s are great and the concept of the lip kit coming with a complementary color makes it fool proof. This post talks about more of my favorite liquid lipstick formulas.
