I’m combining October and November into one post instead of my monthly because I haven’t done a great job at entering my favorite products as I go. Sorry if the pics are a bit random! I gathered a bunch from my phone camera roll. Lighting has been so scarce, I need to get better about taking pictures for posts!
BEAUTY
KKW x Kylie / I bought my first KKW fragrance this fall. I haven’t bought a perfume from Kim’s line because The KKW Crystal Gardenia never appealed to me all that much, and the shipping is expensive. Luckily Ulta carries the brand now, and I was able to sniff them all in person. The Kylie collab line has the cutest lip packaging that looks too cute on my vanity and in pictures. Out of the three colors I got nude. If you like light, vanilla scents the nude is the one for you. Based on the description on Fragrantica.com , I thought I would like Pink Lips the most. It mentions a lot of Coconut, which I typically enjoy. It reminded me of a bubblegum teen scent though. The red was too rich and floral for me.
Loreal Ultra Matte lipsticks / I haven’t seen anyone mention this line of lipsticks from the drugstore. These matte lipsticks come in a range of matte nudes. It’s more of a whipped light nude formula rather than thick. I want SO many of the shades. Think Jaclyn Cosmetics line of lipsticks, but matte rather than shine, and not defective lol. I have the shade Full Blown Fawn.
NYX Citrine Rose / The mother of the groom at a wedding that I did makeup for thad the Hourglass diffused heat blush. Normally I gravitate toward muted blushes but I was stunned at how gorgeous this bright pink and coral blush is. I’m not on much of an Hourglass budget though, so I set out to find a good drugstore alternative. NYX Citrine Rose ended up being exactly what I was looking for. It is bold and you only need a tiny bit! I’m loving the bright healthy rosy flush it gives. It’s also matte, which I actually prefer over the shimmer Hourglass formula for my skintone.
Fenty Glow Gloss bomb / I have the universal color that was from the first release and it is hydration heaven. I’m giving it a special shout out this month because it went missing for a few months, but turned back up! I use this more as a lip balm than a gloss for makeup looks.
TanWise Sally Beauty Dark foam / Not only is this a great toasty brown tan shade, but it’s what I’ve been using for my faux tan freckles. I buy it at Sally Beauty.
Sherpa Scrunchie / Random but really good thing- this sherpa scrunchie from American Eagle. If you told me to spend $5 on a scrunchie I’d usually laugh, but this one is next level and better than any of the ones I’ve gotten in the past. Part of me wants to go get a bunch of sherpa fabric and start making these for an Etsy shop….
NON BEAUTY
Combat Boots / After being on my feet for quite a few weddings my feet were SHOT. I vowed to only wear comfy shoes to work- no more booties like I sometimes like to do. I’ve mostly been in sneakers, but I also love combat boots because they’re flat. I like the grungy punk look of them too. My dream pair is the Dr. Martens Sinclair- a front zip platform style. I love all the new styles coming out and all the takes on them- sherpa, hiker style, platform, etc. I saw these Louis Vuitton ones on Khloe Kardashian and a few other celebrities, and fell in love. Luckily there’s an amazing lookalike pair here. They’re super comfy and are definitely a statement. I’m planning on switching out the black laces for white to punch them up a bit.
Rhinestone Hoops / Keep a pair, use the other two in the set for Christmas gifts!
Elizabeth & James at Kohl’s / Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were my original influencers. I still love their carefree baggy style- they always look so comfortable and chic. Check out olsenoracle on Insta for a great account about them. Anyway, a few months ago the pulled the Elizabeth & James Nirvana fragrance line to the dismay of a lot of people. If you haven’t smelled Nirvana White or Black, they’re good. Thankfully, they came back out with them exclusively at Kohl’s, and with a new clothing release as well! I picked up this beautiful oversized camel coat from them. I’m a size 10 and got a large because there were no more mediums. It’s definitely baggy on me, but I kind of feel like the Olsen twins would wear it like that. It is NICE quality and actually keeps me warm along with being the perfect creamy tan shade- not too orange and not too white. Kohl’s has tons of coupons too, so I got it for $45 when it was originally $98! I’d love to get it tailored to perfectly fit me because it is such a beautiful timeless piece.
Thundercloud Grey by Benjamin Moore / After putting it off all year, we finally got around to painting our living room! Coming to an agreement on a color was a challenge, but we both loved Thundercloud Gray. It’s a cozy greyish blue that got rid of the booger yellow green in our living room. I’m not sure where Benjamin Moore paint is sold though, so Ace Hardware was able to mix us up a copycat. They have a nifty software database that can find the color and mix the formula up for you.
Blue Light Glasses / I’m currently wearing these as I type this up. I don’t know the science behind protective blue light glasses, but I know they’re cute. Mine are the Desi x Quay High Keys
Wine / I was walking through Target and heard something fall off a shelf and break. I didn’t go look, but eventually I came across the aisle where it happened. Someone bumped a bottle of wine onto the floor and the employees were mopping it up. It was red wine and smelled so good! I asked them which one it was and picked up a bottle of the California Roots Cabernet. I don’t drink red wine often because it makes my mouth super dry and super stained. I might have a weird sensitivity to it actually, but I was obsessed with the flavor and can’t wait to pick some up again.
Luke Combs album / Even if you’re not a country music fan, listen to Luke Combs new album. Something about his songs put me in such a good mood, and I’m super proud that I have every word of 1,2, Many memorized. I went to his concert in October and he is so talented. I’m also a bit obsessed and also bought his Crocs collab. I bought the physical copy for my car on those days when I don’t feel like plugging in my aux cord.
