My Wedding Makeup

Hi! I feel like I haven’t sat down to go over makeup products in depth in awhile So I wanted to do that in this post. To be honest I haven’t been doing my makeup as much as I’d like to due to my current work situation- I’ll talk about that more when I feel like I can!  Nothing makes me happier than when I get to hang out for a few hours and do a full face of makeup.

However, I had the chance to do that because I got married! Alex and I got married 8.30.20 mini elopement style, and we just had some professional pictures taken this past weekend to announce with.  I wanted to go over what I used – I ended up sticking to my tried and true products that I knew would last and look great in pictures.

I wanted to have a classic glam look with a semi- dramatic eye and a good tan.  For the wedding I went with a bronze eyeshadow shimmer look, and for the pictures I ended up aiming for a cool- toned matte look because I wanted a fall vibe.  These products are all obviously my holy grail items since I literally used them on my wedding day! Products are linked.

MOISTURIZER /

I use this on every bridal client I do makeup for, so figured I’d stick with that. I added a dollop of Glotion into it too.

PRIMER /

My oily skin is high maintenance. I start with Mac primer for a light tacky finish to grip my foundation. Then I add a mattifying primer to my cheeks and forehead to achieve all day wear. I set the primers with a light dusting of translucent powder before I go in with foundation.

FOUNDATION /

Nars foundation in Vanuatu is my holy grail – such a beautiful velvet finish, with medium coverage that I can easily blend or build up.  It never fails me as far as long wear.

CONCEALER /

Dotted on Becca Under Eye Corrector with my finger, then apply Bare Minerals Concealer with a mini duo fiber brush.

POWDER /

I lightly set the concealer with Fenty Butter with a brush & set my whole face with translucent powder.  Then I dust on a light layer of Bare Minerals powder in Golden Medium all over my face.  I brightened up my under eyes with Bare Minerals Well Rested to keep myself looking awake in photos.

BRONZER /

Bronze

Contour

All over glow

High maintenance step here- I linked the three products I used to contour, warm up my face, and get a bronze filter effect.

BLUSH & HIGHLIGHT /

Mac Melba & NYX Day Cream

NG GLOW KIT

I’m super into wearing PLENTY of blush lately, so I used my two favorites. I love the natural peach color of Melba so I started by packing that on. The NYX blush is an ultra bright coral shade, so I just pop a little bit of that on top.

For highlight, I had to use my favorite of all time to add glow to my cheek & brow bone, & inner corner.

BROWS /

I start off by brushing Got2b spiking hair gel through my brows with a clean mascara wand. Once that gets tacky I smush my brows down to be flat against my skin for the laminated brow look.  I also added a little bit of ABH Chocolate dipbrow to the sparse areas

EYE SHADOW /

For the actual wedding day, I went with a bronze shimmery look with a dark lash line.  I used a combination of my ABH x Mario palette and the BH Cosmetics Sugar Cone Palette

For my matte look during our photos, I used KVD Eye contour palette, which isn’t available anymore. This one is super similar though!

LASHES /

Wedding day: Double 113

Photo session: Stella lashes cut in half

LIP COMBO /

Liner/ NYX Sandstorm

Liquid lipstick/: ABH Stripped

Lipstick / NudeStix Pixi

SETTING SPRAY /

I like to apply setting spray after applying my concealer and lightly pat it in with a beauty blender.  This helps lock it in even more. I have been loving the Urban Decay Matte All Nighter spray. To finish off my face after I’m fully done with my makeup I use the Morphe Matte setting spray. It gives the perfect smooth finish without shine.

PERFUME /

Since March I feel like my taste in fragrances has changed so much.  Right now I’m loving sweet girly fragrances.  I chose the Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay perfume. Description from Sephora:

Key Notes / Blackberry, Bay Leaves, Cedarwood / This fragrance evokes childhood memories of blackberry picking—a burst of deep, tart blackberry juice blends with the freshness of just-gathered bay and brambly woods for a vibrant and verdant impression.

OUTFIT/

DRESS

SHOES

BRACELET

That’s all I can think of at the moment! One day we plan to do a reception where we invite all our friends and family. Hope you guys are as excited for it to be fall as I am.

Thank you so much for reading. 🙂
