Fall is MY season and awakens my soul. Currently watching “cozy fall porch coffee shop ambience” on Youtube as I write this. Highly recommend. Here are some of my favorites of the moment.
BEAUTY
Salted Caramel Rhode / I bought the Rhode lip treatment and moisturizer as soon as it dropped. I wasn’t impressed by the moisturizer, my Ponds dry skin cream performs better in my opinion. However, the salted caramel lip treatment formula is 10 out of 10. Hailey Bieber in general is a favorite- her hair, glazed donut nails, brownie glaze lip look, and all her Vogue get ready with me tutorials are stunning. I need to know what spray tan she uses because it is also perfect. Let me know if you want my thoughts on the Call Her Daddy interview lol.
Rare Beauty Concealer / The first time I tried this was from a sample pack where I mistook it as a foundation. After applying the concealer all over my face as a base, I was literally astounded at how perfect my skin looked. After realizing it was a concealer I started using it properly and was still blown away by it. It has the perfect amount of coverage and I love the creamy finish. I have loved everything I’ve tried so far from Rare Beauty, and I wasn’t expecting to be so impressed by another celeb line. The Rare foundation brush is amazing as well. TY Selener. <3
Mac Studio Fix powder / Everytime I use this, I’m always impressed. Mac will always be one of my absolute favorite brands. This powder looks great to set foundation with, use on its own as a powder foundation, or set under eyes.
Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude lip liner / I’ve been unlucky with trying Charlotte Tilbury products, so I was excited to finally have a win. I finally understand why so many people talk about this product. It’s the perfect shade for lining the lips for that “Kim K” overline contoured look. This and Mac Stripdown are my holy grail lip liners. If you have any Charlotte Tilbury recommendations, please send them my way. I haven’t liked the liquid blush or lipstick.
Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plumping Gloss / This is thee perfect lip to reapply without needing a mirror. I love the shades white peach and cherry blossom. They are comfortable, beautiful shades, and have a gorgeous glossy finish. I used to be obsessed with the Nars lip glide in Stripped before it was sadly discontinued. This has been the perfect replacement. Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude liner with Tarte Cherry Blossom is a gorgeous combination.
Just to rant for one more sec, I like that Tarte did a more nude shade range for these. EVERY line seems to do 20 red and bright pink shades. I want nude shades! I’ll always regret not buying the Jaclyn Hill lipstick collection that was a full line of creamy nudes. Idgaf that they had fuzzy fibers, they were the perfect shades.
One Size Waterproof Setting Spray / Love a good aerosol setting spray. This claims to mattify, which I haven’t really found is the case, but definitely helps with longevity. One Size’s translucent powder is amazing as well. Random tip: I always go back in with another layer of translucent powder after setting spray just to really lock it in. I’m an oily gal as I’ve mentioned approx one million times.
Good Molecules Exfoliant / I went on a beach trip to the Oregon coast for a week and used this exfoliant every single day. I got a great sense for how I liked it and wanted to tell every single person I knew to buy it. My beloved No7 Total Renew exfoliator was discontinued from what I can tell, so I needed a replacement. The Good Molecules one has been amazing. It dispenses as a powder that you apply with wet hands so it turns into a paste. The powder is also great for traveling. It always leaves my face feeling fresh and soft. Definitely will be trying more Good Molecules products, especially because they come at a great price point.
Smoothie Star body scrub / If you like vanilla scents, you need to try this body scrub from Target. It instantly brightens my mood every time I shower.
Sol de Janeiro 40 Body Mist / I hear lots of raving about #62, but I personally like #40 more. It’s the quintessential vanilla scent, a pretty great dupe for Kayali Vanilla. I know I talk about vanilla scents all the time, so sorry if that gets annoying! Nothing makes me feel prettier than dousing myself in Kayali Vanilla 28 and smelling like vanilla frosting.
DND Spiced Berry 478 / From June to August I got acrylic nail sets to treat myself for my birthday. They looked fabulous, and I loved the “me” time going to the salon. To be real though, I spend a lot of time at home and there’s no reason to keep spending money on nails, so I stopped getting them for now. I had a total of four sets- red, maroon, white sparkle, then red again. Love a long oval shape. For the maroon, I was OBSESSED with the shade the salon used (BEBE NAILS in Hillsboro), so I purchased it on amazon. It’s the most stunning blackberry juice/ wine red burgundy color., not too dark so you can see the color. The set I bought on amazon comes with the regular polish and a gel version.
Isle of Paradise Oil spray / I’m one of those people that has major seasonal depression when it is summer. I thank God everyday that I was born in Oregon where it rains most of the year. When it’s hot and sunny out, I’m unhappy. All that TMI is to say that I’m happy again now that the weather has started to return to the usual rain, and I’ll be coming out of my cocoon, which means applying self tan. As a lazy person, this is my favorite easy fake tan with a hydrating formula and a healthy color payoff. How to: put on a pair of blue latex gloves, soak each section of your body in the spray, distribute it evenly. Then do one more coat just to ensure you didn’t miss a spot.
Latisse / I did makeup for a wedding where a bridesmaid had the most stunningly thick eyelashes I’ve ever seen. She said it was because of Latisse. I went home and ordered it that night on Rory.com. Praying my results are even half as great as hers.
OTHER
Earrings / I have a bunch of piercings in my ears (DIY from highschool mostly lol) and I love having cute ear stacks. Nothing is more annoying than tarnishing or backs that won’t stay on. These two have been excellent finds that I don’t have any issues with: first, second
Cider Lane candle / This is the best scent Bath & Body Works has at the moment. I can’t even explain how delicious this smells.
Lululemon / I went from being someone who exclusively bought dupes to being a full blown addict. I die for the colors. I got my start in the “WE MADE TOO MUCH” discount section, then I was hooked. Right now my fave colors are Carob brown, grey sage, cassis, merlot, roasted brown, and java. The nylon all nighter festival bag or the mini crossbody backpack is the best everyday purse you can find. If I was skinnier I’d be a Lululemon tiktok haul influencer because I buy so much. If I lose the weight I want to, I’ll become one. I’ll do a post on my favorite staple items from Lululemon next.
Free People / High quality flowy clothes are right up my alley. While expensive, I find that it’s worth every penny. I live in the Hot Shot set.
Midnights by Taylor Swift / Yeah, I’m adding an album that hasn’t even come out yet to my favorites. I’m a Swiftie, so ever since Taylor announced her next album is coming out on October 21st, it has occupied a huge place in my mind. I have a theory that the first single is coming out 10/3. In one of her “Midnight Mayhem with Me” posts, she had on a green Levi’s sweater with 10 flowers on the sleeves, and had only 3 buttons showing at first in the video. Cannot wait to listen to it. Until then, I’ll keep listening to All Too Well 10 minute version on repeat.
Big Brother / SPOILER ALERT: This was an amazing season and I’m so happy Taylor won. Love having a show that’s on 3x a week to enjoy.
Tell Me Lies / I should probably write a whole separate post about Tell Me Lies. I read the book at the beginning of 2021, and have had a book hangover ever since. Nothing compares. I’m a very harsh book critic and gave it five stars. It’s a toxic college romance starting in 2007, documenting Stephen and Lucy’s back and forth from her freshman year through after graduation. We now have a Hulu show based on it that I love just as much to the point where I watch each episode twice. I’ve seen people complaining that the show is different from the book. Yes, the storyline is different. We GET to enjoy a whole new storyline with the same characters I love from the book. You have to look at it as a whole new separate entity. Zero complaints. Obsessed with Jackson White and Grace Van Patten also dating in real life, and Katey Segal being Stephen’s IRL mom. I was definitely naive in college and had my fair share of being infatuated with guys that I wasn’t confident around, so I fully relate to the show. The campus scenes bring me right back to my college days from 2009- 2014. Can’t recommend the book and show enough.
Supplements / Sadly I got a haircut that is way too short for my liking on September 1st. I’m very focused on all the hair growth methods I can do to get the three more inches back that I need to be comfortable with how I look. I’ve always been a vitamin taker, but not great at doing it every single day. The Cadence pill container has changed that- it’s so cute and I have it right by my work desk so I never forget a day. Also purchased the MaryRuth’s liquid vitamins to incorporate daily- vanilla peach and coconut dreams.
Lounge Shorts / I pretty much live in these mens boxer shorts from Target & even work out in them. Finally cracked the code for comfy shorts.
