DECEMBER & YEARLY FAVES 2022

I hope you had a safe and fun NYE and have started your 2023 goals off strongly. I was in bed by about 10:30, but had some tequila sodas and peppermint rumchata shots, so it was a great night. One of my 2023 goals is definitely having tequila less frequently. I’ll share my vision board at the end of this post. I love starting off the new year inspired by a new aesthetic or mindset.  The favorites in this post are December stand out products, but also a round up of the items I LOVED throughout 2022.

BEAUTY

Scalp Treatments / I have three products that I rotate between that have been such a relief. I wash my hair once a week, and my scalp is always very irritated. I love the Ouai scalp serum for daily use throughout the week. I have a small sparse area that I pick at on my scalp (sorry gross I know), and it has helped heal that spot. Another I’m obsessed with is the Amika Reset pink Charcoal scalp oil. About an hour before I shower, I apply this to my head and massage it in. It tingles and feels so relieving. The last one I want to mention is the Mielle scalp oil, another mint oil that I use before showering. I use this silicone scrubber with these serums to massage them in and distribute the product.  I also use this a few days per week to stimulate blood flow to my scalp.

Scrunchies / These are the only hairbands I need. They’re large enough to tightly hold my ponytail in place, and are silky to prevent damage.

Amika Jumbo Waver / If you have read my blog for awhile you know I love a good dupe or affordable alternative. In the case of this product, I decided buying the real deal was worth it. The Amika Jumbo Waver is so easy to use and gives that Hailey Bieber soft wave look instead of the tighter crimps some wavers make. I especially love it on like fifth day hair when I want a cute style that can fluff up flat hair. Technically it’s a 32mm barrel iron, so here’s an Amazon alternative if you want to try the look for $30.

Ledda 22 Orris / If I had to pick out my top three perfumes in my collection, this would be included. Definitely a safe blind buy, and great for everyday or a special occasion. Notes: orris flower, pink pepper, lily of the valley, and sandalwood.

Earrings / I have 13 ear piercings, and I love to switch up my ear jewelry stack. These earrings have been my favorites this year, and they don’t tarnish. I literally never take them out.

  1. Chain hoop
  2. Flat back mini stud
  3. 4×6 pear stud
  4. Hoops from this brand

Tarte Juicy Lip Plump Gloss / These are worth all the hype. I love having a good nude lip that I can reapply that is hydrating and glossy. My favorite shades are Cherry Blossom and White Peach. They were definitely my most used lip color this year, which says a lot because I usually reach for my Mac lipsticks over anything else.  Make sure to get the plumping version in the gold packaging if you like a minty lip gloss.

Fenty Gloss Bomb / I simply love these glosses. Thank you Fenty for knowing how to do nude gloss shades!  They have a “heat” plumping version too, but I like the shades in the original line.

Lip Liners / This was the year I finally tried Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude. It’s my favorite for contouring/ overlining my lips. I know I overline my lips a bit too much, but I’d rather do that than get lip injections every six months, so let me live. Make Up For Ever Wherever Walnut is my other favorite shade of the year.

Bronzer / I’ve been using a mini of this bronzer in my bridal kit, and I finally got the full size. I absolutely love it.  I’m also very tempted to purchase the Volume III palette to use for bronzer.

Kosas Cloud Set Powder / As someone with oily skin, I love face powders. Kosas and classic Mac Studio Fix are my favorites pressed powder when I need extra coverage or mattifying.

Rare Beauty Concealer / I’ve written about this in like every faves post, I absolutely love it.

OneSize Setting Spray / If you love an aerosol application for your setting spray, try this setting spray.

Freck / Before trying Freck, I had been using self tan and a tiny eyeliner brush for my freckles.  That works great, but Freck is easier to grab one product and apply.

Lip Treat / I wasn’t able to snag the vanilla birthday flavor, but I absolutely love the salted caramel scent.  I’ve heard the Summer Fridays lip balm is amazing, so that is next up on my list to try.

Squalene / This is a skincare MUST HAVE to hydrate with.

GrandeLash / Thanks to using this regularly I’m so much more comfortable skipping falsies.

Glow Recipe Dew Drops / I use these as a pre- primer under makeup. They make my skin look and feel amazing.  I personally feel like they are worth the semi- steep price.  The watermelon mist is amazing too.

Cream Contour / Some contour products can get patchy on me, but I’ve found a new favorite this year. The Too Faced Born This Way Concealer in the shade Maple is the perfect coverage and I love the applicator. I really want to try a shade of this under my eyes in a shade that matches me,but I still have too many other concealers to do that yet.

Tinted SPF / This is another Hailey Bieber rec.  This looks so great when worn alone or under makeup. If I had to pick one between this and glowscreen, I’d pick Elta.

Tan / When I want to feel bronze, I reach for this tan.

Glow Drops / Get these instead of the Drunk Elephant bronze drops. They blend like a dream.

MORE

Vans / When I’m not wearing athletic sneakers I’m usually wearing these. I love the platform slip ons, and they are super comfy.

Cadence / These canisters somehow make taking my daily vitamins fun.

Slides / These white Lululemon sandals were my most worn shoe over the summer.

Necklace / I hope you guys don’t think I’m lame from how much I’m influenced by celebrities. This was inspired by Jojo Fletcher wearing this necklace in her instagram stories.  I asked for it for Christmas and I’m obsessed.

Mood Board / Feeling vulnerable sharing but here are some things I’m manifesting in the new year: healthy meals, a house that’s basically white everywhere (clutter stresses me out), a big closet, good books (if you don’t have a Kindle you need one!), more caramel highlights in my hair, yummy wine, a balanced diet (hence the Hailey Bieber pasta pic), upgraded car, creating more video content, strengthening workouts, glossy lips, self care, and cute Insta pics.
