I don’t talk much about my love of tinted moisturizers, but I feel like I should start. The ones I’m mentioning here are more sheer than a BB or CC cream. These don’t conceal skin, just even out the tone and provide a nice finish. I can’t recommend these enough. If you’re a foundation- everyday kind of person, I salute you. I wear foundation probably once per week, and that’s on the weekend. As much as I love it, I can’t deal with making sure it stays on my face all day, along with taking the time to apply it.
I start with my skincare- serum or treatments, moisturizer, then sunscreen. For a no- makeup look, I apply the tinted moisturizer with my hands, and I’m good to go. When I want to do a fuller natural look, I’ll go with skincare, then apply a pink color corrector under my eyes like the Maybelline Age Rewind Brightening shade or Becca Brightening Under Eye Corrector with my finger before applying the tinted moisturizer. This brightens up my face a little more but is undetectable when you do it first. Add a dusting of a translucent or skin- colored powder, mascara, and that’s it. Of course you can continue with bronzer/ under eye highlight/ blush, etc. to make it a full face as well.
- Neutrogena Healthy Skin Glow Sheers / This is such a hidden gem. I came across this product when looking for a dupe for the Milk Sunshine Skin Tint. I have the darkest shade and use it for the days that I’m self tanned. Their range definitely needs to be expanded! I apply this with my hands and it makes my face look alive and brightened. It does not have any shimmer, and has a nice finish that lasts well throughout the day. It does exactly what I need it to- makes my skin look like it’s naturally evened out and gives me color to match my fake tanned neck and chest.
2. Cetaphil Redness Relieving Moisturizer / If you have redness on your cheeks I highly recommend this product. After moisturizing with Ponds, I’ll apply two pumps of this all over my face. It gives no coverage, but takes away the redness from my face.
3. Australian Gold Tinted SPF 50 / When I think of tinted moisturizers, I usually think of a shiny cream that will melt off my greasy skin. This one gives a matte finish without being drying. The consistency is extremely lightweight and almost whipped.
4. Loreal Lumi Glotion / Truly a holy grail drugstore product for me, while not exactly a tinted moisturizer. I use it in the same way though, so I thought it belonged in this post. I like to apply this on both super glam and no makeup makeup days. To apply this, I like to do half primer, half Glotion, creating a perfect little concoction. On its own, the Glotion is not hydrating at all, but mixed with the primer it’s great. If you’re looking for that “fake tan” look, go for the darkest shade. You know when you get a spray tan and you haven’t washed the color guard off yet? That’s how this one makes me look. Personally I like that look, but if you’re not into it, go for a lighter shade that matches you. You could also mix this in to a pump of moisturizer to sheerly apply it. I like to use this one for work by mixing the medium shade into two pumps of Cetaphil Redness Relieving moisturizer.
