May 2019 Favorites

May was hectic in the best way- I had three Bachelorette trips so I was doing a lot of shopping for those, and doing a lot of makeup! I went to Vegas, stayed overnight at McMenamins in Forest Grove (my hometown!), and just got back from Nashville. Nashville was my literal heaven and I’ve missed it every single second since I’ve been back. Here are some of my May favorites for those trips and just everyday essentials.

Beauty

Essie Fairy Tailor / I’ve been pinning sheer pinkish white manicures nonstop. I just think it looks so clean and I like the classic minimal look. Essie Fairy Tailor is perfect for this look. I also like it layered over nude or light pink shades to get a little more opaque-ness.

Essie Virgin Snow / When I want a cute nude look, but am over actually doing nude nails, I’ve been using Virgin Snow. It is so flattering and the perfect pastel periwinkle shade.

Bath & Body Works Island Sleep / I heard this was a dupe for Replica Beach Walk perfume so I headed to Bath & Body Works to check it out.  I’m OBSESSED with this light beachy scent. It’s not too coconut or sunscreen-y, and it’s perfect for everyday. I layer the body lotion and spray to make it last longer on my skin.

Maple Holistic Silk18 Shampoo | As someone who ONLY will use sulfate- free shampoos, I was excited when Maple Holistics asked me if they could send a bottle of their shampoo. To be honest I was intrigued by the brand name- I love anything maple, and the holistic aspect was the cherry on top. I’ve been using the shampoo for a little over a month now so I’ve gotten a good feel for it. My boyfriend made fun of me for buying a shampoo that smelled like dessert. I have a MAJOR sweet tooth and it was very on brand for me. This smells like a maple bar and doesn’t strip my color, so I’m a fan. It helps me go a week without rewashing my hair and makes it feel full, fluffy, and shiny without dryness.

Givenchy Rosy Crush Perfume / I didn’t intend on buying a perfume when I went into Ulta the other day but after spraying this on myself and getting whiffs of it the rest of the day I had to go back for it.  It’s such a lovely crisp scent that isn’t a heavy granny rose scent. I don’t usually like florals but this one is so special and I’m in love. The bottle is gorgeous too so that’s a bonus.

Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes / I’ve been using Maybelline Colossal mascara since the dawn of time pretty much at this point. It’s been a few years since I’d had a bottle though (always looking for that next best one) but the leopard print on the version of this Colossal drew me in.  It’s just as good as I remember and I feel like I should have never strayed. It will definitely be in my rotation more often.

Fake Bake Flawless Darker / While I love trying new tanning products, this is my holy grail and I wanted to give it a shoutout. This one fades the most evenly, gives the best bronze, and applies flawlessly.  I’m in a new routine with my tan lately where I start lightly exfoliating my whole body after about three days to make it fade more evenly.

Loreal Lumi Glotion / I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t do my foundation without Glotion.  Either I mix it in with my foundation to add some glow, or I apply it before my primer. I have the 3rd and 4th shade that I choose based on my tan.  I also wear them on their own/ mixed into my sunscreen for no foundation healthy skin look.

Sonia Kashuk Bag / Please go to Target to see all the cute Sonia Kashuk makeup bags they have.  I’ve gifted them twice, and finally bought myself another one because they hold SO much stuff, are durable, and adorable.

Morphe Store / Not a product, but still makeup- related, my mall opened up a Morphe store!! I didn’t know how GORGEOUS Morphe stores are. They had a bunch of brands like Iconic London, Jeffree Star, and a few other Youtube- famous brands that I hadn’t seen in person.  The shopping experience was awesome too and I loved that I was able to browse around and take any pics that I wanted to. Literally like online browsing, but in real life. I was very impressed and picked up a few more Morphe brushes.

Other

Flip Flops / May was the first time that it actually got warm/ dry enough to wear sandals here in Oregon, so I’ve put away my Uggs. I like pretty minimal sandals most of the time, and I really like the simple design of these Lauren Conrad flip flops.  They remind me of when I used to wear Old Navy and Hollister rubber flip flops to school EVERY single day.  These ones are just a little more elevated though.

Old Navy Power Jeans / Old Navy never fails me. They had a buy one get one free sale on jeans so I picked up two pairs of the Power style in white and distressed light.  They fit true to size and are the perfect retro but fitted style.

Abercrombie & Fitch / A&F has THEE cutest stuff again.  They always seem to be having sales too. I bought two things from their clearance section (without logos!)  and am trying to decide if I’m cool enough to pull off a logo item like this to wear kind of ironically…  I’m wearing my clearance pics in my two last instagram selfie posts.

Lennon Stella concert / My friends and I are obsessed with Lennon Stella. Along with amazing music, she also has KILLER style and her makeup is stunning.  We went to her show in Portland and had the time of our lives. Listen to the song La Di Da, Bitch, & Bad. Her voice is beyond beautiful.

Gingham Rails Dress / I’ve been going to a bunch of bridal events lately- showers, bachelorette parties, etc. and need so many outfits. I wore this dress from Rails to a bridal shower in May and it’s one I will definitely wear again.  I actually found mine at Nordstrom Rack for $20 but can’t find a link online for that.  I may do a roundup on outfits that I’ve bought for these events because most have actually been from Amazon.

Youtube video / I did a blog post on the Youtube video I posted. Give it a watch and leave me a comment if you have a chance! It feels really good to try to work on conquering my fear of putting myself out there.

Thank you so much for reading and please invite me to Nashville if you live there lol.
