As a lipstick junkie, I had to try out the Kylie Lip Kits. This product combines two of my favorite things- liquid lipstick and Kylie Jenner.
Kylie can do no wrong when it comes to her looks in my opinion. If you don’t already follow her snapchat, you should. (@KYLIZZLEMYNIZZL) Her extravagant lifestyle, Kylie Cosmetics updates, occasional makeup tips, and glam shots with her perfect sisters and the rest of the family are my favorite to watch. The Kardashian and Jenner families are controversial- you either love them or hate them. I am a lover- they give me fashion, makeup, hair, and workout inspiration daily. I am (mostly) unembarrassed to say that I buy almost every magazine Khloe, Kim, Kylie, or Kendall grace the cover of. …Okay fan rant over.
When the line first launched, I was one of those people sitting on my computer refreshing the website trying to get the lip kits. Each time she comes out with new lip kits, I debate whether to get them. While I would love to own them all, I stick to only wearable shades that I will use. The packaging is beautiful, the formula is pretty good, and as a fan of hers, I love owning them.
The downside to Kylie Cosmetics is buying it. At $29 a pop plus shipping, the lip kits push my budget, and you have to be at the ready when they are available. I see the cost as basically paying for the name on the tube- I do not expect these to be top quality formulas, especially since it is her first product in her makeup line. If I wasn’t such a Kardashian super fan, I would probably just stick to other liquid lippies. For more information on the lip kit formula, this is an interesting read.
She recently came out with three new colors that have to be my favorites of the entire collection – Maliboo, Kristen, and Ginger. I may try to snag Ginger in the next launch- a soft pumpkin spice shade, and Maliboo is a mauvey cool nude that looks flattering.
Of the shades I own, here are my favorites listed in order:
Posie K – This pink has some really pretty flattering purple tones in it. It can really brighten up a simple makeup look
Dolce K – Midtone brown with neutral and cool undertones.
Exposed – Peachy nude. (I like this equal to Dolce.)
Candy K – Grungy pinkish brown.
I have been happily surprised with this product. Compared to the rest of my liquid lipsticks, there is nothing outstanding or groundbreaking in terms of the formula, but they are not bad either. That being said, the swatches on my arm in the picture above literally would not scrub off, and lasted even through a workout and shower the next morning. The colors are pretty and the formula is comfortable enough to wear. If you are a Kardashian or Jenner fan and makeup addict like me, you definitely need to try a Kylie lip kit.

Great review!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!!
Are these really worth the hype and money??
I say it depends on how much of a fan of Kylies you are. If yes, then I say go for it because the colors are cute and the staying power is great. Otherwise, just go for other LLs out there because these are very drying .
Thanks 🙂 X
