Release Ranking | May 2018

I’ll jump right into the makeup releases that have peaked my interest recently.

Juvia’s Place Warrior Palette / It’s taking everything in me to not go purchase this palette today but I’m holding back because realistically I can dupe all of them from my collection. Something about having them all in one place is so appealing though! This color scheme is so on point. Check out swatches on this blog post.

Kris Jenner x Kylie Cosmetics / As a major Jenner & Kardashian fan, I am wowed by the marketing they have done with this collection. Changing the name to KrisCosmetics on all platforms for mother’s day is too good.  The names “Your sister is going to jail” and “10%” (how much she earns off her children’s incomes) are the best references from KUWTK and the amazing woman at the head of their empire. The eyeshadow palette doesn’t just have cute names though. It is everything I want in a smokey eyeshadow palette and I feel like the color scheme is truly unique and very Kris. This palette is what I wish the Urban Decay Smoky and Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions were and my first instinct was to definitely buy this. The packaging on all of the collection is ridiculously well thought out too, especially the checkered flooring of her home on the boxes. After watching a couple reviews though, it seems to not be the best quality so I’m holding off for now. I’m hoping this starts a trend of silver, taupe, smokey palettes to roll out.

 

Sephora Cream Lip Stains / Somewhere along the way I missed the announcement that Sephora Collection released new shades of my favorite lipstick formula, the Cream Lip Stains. I have Vanilla Cream, Nude Blush, and Altar Ego on my wishlist currently.

Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow / I’m hesitant to go swatch the new shades of these glitters because I’ll probably end up buying them. Sun Drenched looks SO pretty!

Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered / Huda Beauty reformulated the eyeshadows in this pink palette and changed the packaging. I’m not interested in the colors all that much now or when it was first released so I won’t be picking it up.  Now that I’m looking at it, it reminds me a lot of ABH Soft Glam.

Dose of Colors Block Party / This collection of individual single shadows takes me back to when single shadows were much more popular. These look like intense glitter/ shimmer shades in bold colors.  I’m a bit boring and tend to stick to lighter shimmer shades and I have quite a few of those already so I don’t think I’ll be getting any of these unless they release more shades. I definitely appreciate this collection for what it is and the application looked really nice in iluvsarahii’s video using and swatching them.

Stila Glitter & Glows / Stila knows what the people want and keep releasing new shades of their amazing glitter shadows. I use these almost every time I do my makeup when I want it to be extra glittery and they are worth the hype. The more colors they come out with, the better in my opinion. I love all three shades in this new release!

 

Fenty Spring / If you haven’t watched Rihanna’s get ready with me video for Vogue, definitely do when you get a chance. She is adorable and pretty funny. She showed off a couple of the new Fenty releases coming out, and we now have a photo of the full collection. I haven’t been interested in anything Fenty has come out with since the initial launch unfortunately.  These colors are very play makeup looking to me, which isn’t really my thing.

 

I love writing these out because it helps me talk myself out of buying a whole lot of products that I otherwise may impulse purchase. Out of the ten collections, I’m likely to pick up the Tarte Chrome Paint and possibly a Sephora Cream Lip Stain if I can swatch it in the store.  Let me know what new makeup releases you’re excited about and check out my last “Release Ranking” post here.
