I’m sure you’ve seen all the “shop small” encouragement posts on social media. I won’t deny that I’m guilty of shopping at huge retailers- you can tell by how much I link through Amazon, Ulta, Kohls, Nordstrom, Target, etc. I want to spotlight the smaller businesses I love in this post. There are some handmade things you just can’t find anywhere else.
Photo album / I’m a huge lover of velvet- particularly nudes and grey (SKIMS vibes) and wanted a velvet covered photo album for our wedding photos. I searched on Etsy and found a shop that was able to imprint our names on the cover. It shipped it out right away and is exactly what I wanted. I told Alex not to read this post because I’m actually wrapping it for Christmas once I put our photos in it. I will 1000% be shopping at this store again.
Holiday nails / I’ve talked about my love for press on nails in the past. Usually I stick with solid colors, but I’ve been inspired by some cute nail art on Instagram lately. I don’t know of a good salon near me that could achieve it, so I ordered some cute ones from GetClawedUp.
Pear ring / Had a little treat yourself moment on a new ring. I was nervous about ordering from a shop that was so far away, but it shipped out in a timely manner.
Raw cut ring / This ring is a must have in my opinion! It was only about $30 and does not tarnish, even though I never take it off.
Simple Band ring / Another one that hasn’t tarnished since I purchased it in 2018.
My Wedding ring / We ordered “The Michelle”. I have had Pinterest boards all about wedding rings for years, and I went with something totally different than I originally thought I wanted. I wanted timeless because I feel like my taste and style changes so much. Even now after having it for a couple months, I wonder if I should have gone with yellow gold over white… I’m annoying! I’ll likely do a full post all about my ring because I absolutely fell in love with the ring industry when I was picking out my ring and could easily write a 10 page paper about different styles. I’m still on the hunt for a wedding band!
Family ornament / I’m in love with this ornament of our little fam and I thought it was perfect for our first married Christmas. They also send out a digital proof (that’s great for social media or printing) to approve before mailing the ornament.
Headband / I’m a huge fan of PebbyForevee- both her shop & Instagram. I still use my scrunch headband from her multiple times a week after having it for like three years now.
Hair clip / Full transparency here, I haven’t had the chance to wear this bedazzled clip that I ordered. Didn’t expect a pandemic to hit! Once I’m back out in public I want to curl my hair and pin up one side with this clip for a fun night out. I’m also eyeing these cute speckled claw clips.
Name necklace / These have become a little bit cliché but I still love my name necklace.
White Birch / Not an Etsy shop, but I wanted to share a local company in Hillsboro. They have two storefronts side by side- one for decor, and one for clothing/ jewelry/ accessories. Check them out if you’re local!
Helvetia Market / Another local shop I love is Helvetia Farm Market. They sell all kinds of typical farmers market goods like produce, flowers, treats, but also have an amazing selection of things like hot sauce, marinades, a barista and wine bar, and some handmade items too. It’s a great place to get gifts and home decor.
I’d love to hear all about your favorite Etsy shops! Thank you so much for reading and happy holidays!
