As someone with oily skin, I have a high standard when it comes to foundations because I need something that is going to stay on my skin. I have tried so many, and I wanted to share which ones that I think are worth the high end price. I also have tried all of these on other skin types when I do makeup for weddings, and I can stand behind them.
My favorite way to apply foundation is with any of these brushes:
1. Tarte Buffer brush
3. It Cosmetics double sided
After I apply my foundation and concealer, I like to pat a damp beauty sponge all over to buff it in further. These sponges are hands down my favorite.
I won’t go through a description of each foundation because you can only describe a finish in so many ways. All of the foundations on this list are my favorites and I absolutely love how they wear and look, but if I had to pick a few top favorites, they would be:
- Nars Natural Radiant Longwear (Vanuatu)
- Mac Face & Body (C2)
- Makeup For Ever Stick Foundation (Y415)
- Dior Backstage (3N)
The key to foundation looking good is skin prep. Always start with a clean, moisturized, and primed face. When I dermaplane my skin before doing my makeup, it looks the best.
Thank you for reading! I will be doing a drugstore foundation soon as well.
