We made it through summer!! I’m a way bigger fan of fall, so now that it’s September I’m instantly happier. It was 90 degrees in Portland last week, but hopefully we’ll be done with hot weather for the rest of the year. I don’t care how “basic” it is, I’m most happy when there are pumpkin spice foods everywhere, I’m wearing sweaters, scarves, and dark lipstick, and I’m not sweating. According to my parents, my first food as a baby was actually pumpkin pie ice cream at Dairy Queen, so maybe that has something to do with my favorite season. I can’t wait to do get into more Fall- themed posts! I’m starting with the non- beauty favorites this time, just to switch things up.
Telestrations / This game is equally or possibly more fun than any board game I’ve played. It’s good for literally any group of people you’re with- young, old, fam, friends. I played it for the first time at a bachelorette party when I was kind of hungover and not in the mood for a game, and by the end I was laughing harder than I ever have in my life.
Whisps Parmesan Crisps / These are baked parmesan cheese rounds. I am OBSESSED with them and they have no carbs. Only downside is the bag is like $13… worth it though honestly. I need to just try to make them in the oven to get them cheaper!
Frayed white mule slip ons / For the longest time I was searching for a cute pair of espadrilles and they all just seemed a little blah to me. I finally found the perfect pair on Amazon for $40 and I’ve been wearing them with dresses, jeans, and shorts almost everyday. I’ll be so bummed when it’s too wet outside in Oregon to keep wearing them! I love the white shoes trend.
Four Sigmatic Instant Coffee Mix / For days when my cold brew coffee isn’t ready yet at work, I grab one of the Four Sigmatic packets and add it to hot water. I forgot how nifty instant coffee is to have around! The mushrooms apparently have a bunch of benefits.
Instacart / I am not one to order groceries, but I was SERIOUSLY craving a Costco steak. I didn’t have access to my bf’s Costco membership in the moment because I thought it would be fun to surprise him with getting them for dinner. My work has used Instacart quite a few times so I felt comfortable making an order. It is always a good experience with them. Use this promo code for a discount- K424F961DF. They have no clue who I am, everyone who refers someone can have a code.
Beauty
Waxing / Fed up with razor bumps after trying every technique to avoid them, I decided to try waxing. I’m a DIYer and not going to go get my bikini area done somewhere when I can save and do it myself. I bought this Wax Warmer on Amazon, and was surprised at how easy and painless hard wax is. I’m loving the results and not having to shave anymore. I highly recommend giving it a try because the razor bumps are gone!
Esqido Gel Liner / I was sent these eyeliner pencils by Esqido (still not over how cool getting to write that is!) and wasn’t sure how special they’d be compared to any other liner. They are equally as nice as my Marc Jacobs gel liners that I’m obsessed with. They stay on my tightline and don’t transfer to my waterline, which is important because I do a dark tightline, and white/ nude waterline. Definitely would recommend these at only $10.
Mac Honeylove Lipstick / When I can’t decide what nude lipstick to go for, I’ve been reaching for Mac Honeylove. It looks good with everything and is interesting (to me) and flattering. Something about using Mac lipstick will forever be timeless to me.
Face steaming & Oil Cleansing / Even when I’m not wearing makeup, I have been using oil cleanser on my face. I use the Palmer’s Rosehip one, but you could use literally anything- even olive oil if you want. I pump oil into my hands, work it into skin, and then take a steaming hot washcloth to remove it. I re-wet the washcloth 4 or 5 times and let it lay on my skin. The hot steam feels so soothing and feels like I’m getting every last bit of oil and residue from the day off of my face.
Mac Next to Nothing Powder – Deep Dark / I found my new favorite bronzer! I ordered this along with the Get it Glowing highlight palette by Mac and have been using them both a ton. They were both great purchases and I’m happy to have them in my collection. I like the color and formula of this face powder that I’m using as a bronzer.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost SPF / Everything I have tried from the Hydro Boost collection has been great. This is an SPF with a lightweight formula. It comes out a tad pale blue which makes me like it even more. I can barely feel it on my face and it leaves a slightly matte yet hydrated feeling.
Essie A Matter of Fiction / Out of all my light pink nail polishes, this one is the best. A Matter of Fiction has the Essie Gel Couture formula that almost refuses to chip and goes on easily in two coats without streaks. This is the perfect color right between blush and white. I wore it to two weddings that I was in and got compliments both times.
Mac Get It Glowin’ Highlight Palette / Lots of Mac picks this month! It’s been a long time since I’ve found a highlighter that I felt the need to go buy. This highlight palette gives a super bright glow and all three shades work well for my skin tone. It comes with a mirror and I like the sleek packaging. I resisted this palette for a few months, but I’m happy I finally gave in.
That’s it for my August favorites. Thank you so much for reading! Let me know if there are any Autumn- themed posts in particular that you’d like to see. I’m dying to do a look with a pumpkin burnt orange lipstick so you will probably see that on my Instagram soon.

Esqido sent me those gel liners too. Been using them a couple weeks and liking them. Gonna have a full review on my blog later this week.
They stay on my tightline without transferring so I was pretty impressed.
Essie A Matter of Fiction looks fantastic on you! I just love those Essie Gel Couture polishes.
Those Whisps Parmesan Crisps sounds delish… I guess if they were cheaper you’d eat more…
