February Favorites 2019

SO late again, I know! I may skip March favorites since this one is pretty recent.

Other

Everyday bags / I switched from my Pop & Suki tote bag over to the Aldo Maewiel. The smaller size is easier on my shoulder, and has plenty of compartments for all my things. I used to carry around a vitamin bag and a makeup bag, which now go in a Herschel tote that I’ve had forever.  I can put my lunch, makeup, vitamins, planner, or anything else big in there, and my purse stays light.

Platform Converse /  How cute are these shoes?  I have red, cream, and burgundy Converse, and the black platform no- lace style are the new addition to my collection. Go half a size down though, they run huge!  I’ve been wearing them nonstop with leggings and a graphic tee. They also come in baby pink, which are SO cute and I might treat myself to one day.  Tip: Pledge and a paper towel clean the rubber of Converse in a flash.

Morning Toast & Say Bible podcasts / If you like the Bachelor, Kardashians, or anything else pop culture, you’ll love these podcasts too.

Coconut Creamer / Coffee Mate coconut reminds me of being on a vacation and makes my regular drip coffee taste like a dessert.

Collagen / I’ve mentioned my love for collagen and getting everyone in my life on it to. Finally got my dad to start taking it and he said it has massively improved his joint pain to the point where he stopped taking one of his medications, which made me so happy! Now I’m working on getting him on the CBD train with me.

Sauna / I added going in the sauna to my morning routine. After my workout I put on flip flops and go sit for about 10 minutes. Personally I’m too paranoid about frying my phone, so I just have screen- free relaxation to try to think positively. It’s basically my way of forcing myself to “meditate” or just clear my mind for a little while.

Hemp Vitamins / Hemp oil is in everything these days claiming it’s a miracle cure so I decided to ingest it rather than buying some of the beauty products I’ve been wanting. I’ve had such good luck with taking spearmint, Vitamin A, L-Lysine, and fish oil, so I’ve added this to the mix. It’s hard to say whether I’ve experienced benefits, but the reviews say other people majorly have. It has Omega 3,6, & 9, aka fatty acids, which decrease inflammation in the body.

Beauty

Sally Hansen Tan / I’ll never stop trying self tanners, and love finding drugstore brands.  The Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun is a tinted gel that gives instant color while also developing the longer you leave it on. This is ideal for situations where I want to show my arms or legs but haven’t prepped with tanning the day before. It gives me color instantly and can be mixed into any moisturizer.

Jergens Coconut / I ran out of my Nivea lotion and picked up this Jergens moisturizer because of the coconut scent.  It’s light enough that it doesn’t clash with the perfume I’m wearing.

No.7 Boots Total Renew Exfoliator / This scrub is holy grail for me. This was recommended by @thesisterstudio on Instagram, and I had been meaning to pick it up for awhile.  This feels like the Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin mask, but in cleanser form. I use this once a week and it truly feels amazing. My Acure scrub that I loved so much before finding this one was demoted to a body scrub, which says a lot. Please do yourself a favor and go pick this up from Target.

Loreal Pro Glow Foundation / This shouldn’t work so well for me as someone with oily skin, but somehow does. This foundation looks really great for a really long time on me.  It gives my skin a healthy glow with medium coverage that lays extremely nicely under other products. I’ve also added a layer of it over the Wet n’ Wild stick foundation and like that combo together for a little more coverage.

Bath & Body Works In the Stars / My obsession with In The Stars from Bath & Body works started with the candle. @ericacamdenmua on Insta said she liked the scent, so I added it to my candle/ wallflower haul a few months ago. It arrived shattered, but I kept the candle and cut it up to be used in my Scentsy warmer.  It gave such a lovely light perfume scent to my house, and I decided to try it out in the body spray. I’m a big fan of body sprays for everyday because I like reapplying them and also using them on my hair. Reviewers on Fragrantica.com have said it reminds them of the Baccarat Rouge 540 Maison Francis Kurkdjiam, which is about $300.  I’ve never smelled that one so I can’t technically vouch for that. Right now I’m wearing the lotion, body spray, use the body wash, and also have the perfume for when I want it to be stronger. It stays light and not warm or sticky scented, and projects well enough that I can actually smell it on myself, which is hard to find!

Essie Tribal Text-Styles & Penny Talk / These Essie nail polishes were my favorites that I wore in February. Penny Talk was a Valentines gift from my boyfriend. He picks me up Essie polishes for holidays, which I love because I get something I wouldn’t typically pick up for myself.

Castor Oil / I’m making it a habit to get back to applying castor oil to my lashes in an attempt to make them grow. If it doesn’t work I plan to buy GrandeLash, which one of my friends has seen amazing results with.

Sorry for the lateness again! Hope you all are having a great month and happy first day of Spring! 🙂
