June 2019 Favorites

Just to warn you, the running theme of my June favorites is vanilla. You’ll see what I mean as you read on!

Beauty

Loreal 370 Jennifer’s Nude / I’ve mentioned this lipstick on my Instagram so often that I feel repetitive.  It truly is the perfect “throw in your bag” lip color though. It is a nude with just enough pink. I’d say it’s more cool toned than warm too, which I love.  Shannon Ford from Very Cavallari wears this, which is how I found out about it. Also, I ran into her in Nashville! Ignore how drunk I look, it was the best night of my life. Just trust me and try this.

Fenty Powder / I love this loose powder in the shade Butter for brightening under my eyes. I think the key to using lighter powders in that area is to work them around with a brush to really let the powder melt into the skin rather than just setting it there.  This one gives a beautiful smooth finish as well rather than looking cakey and dry.

Pacifica Perfumes / I’ve mentioned me obsession with Nashville after taking a trip there last month, and there was this staircase in Whiskey Row that was the most intense vanilla scent. I think that a girl must have smashed a bottle of perfume in there, because it was that intense.  Either way, I’ve been on such a vanilla kick ever since when it comes to both home and body fragrances. I like light and crisp, non syrupy or sickly sweet vanilla scents. Think marshmallow rather than molasses. Pacifica’s perfumes in Island Vanilla and Sugared Amber Dreams have been just right, and they’re affordable! I’ve picked up the body spray from Target and the perfumes from Amazon.  The best part about them is that they are not offensive- I feel like vanilla is pretty widely liked. Some people see vanilla as boring and uninteresting, but I think of it as welcoming, comforting, and classic. I think I like Island Vanilla more on first spray, but Sugared Amber Dreams dries to the perfect marshmallow scent on me.

Carol’s Daughter Vanilla shampoo / This brand is such a go to for me. I picked up the Black Vanilla shampoo and it makes my hair shiny, fluffy, and doesn’t have sulfates. I highly recommend this if you want shinier hair. I also got the Black Vanilla leave in spray and have been using it daily to refresh my hair throughout the week.  It’s unlike my other leave in conditioners that I use on my hair right when it’s still wet. It gives shine and moisture without being heavy or oily and you can use it in dry rather than wet hair. Both smell amazing too.

Makeup Revolution Foundation / I have found SO many drugstore foundations this year that I seriously love.  The Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage foundation is another great find, and I think it would be excellent on both dry and oily skin. I have to use a very matte primer to make this last a long time. The finish is beautiful and I’d say it has medium coverage that can be built up or sheered out. They have a great shade range and I just can’t say enough good things about it. So many products from Makeup Revolution have been hits for me.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Glow Sheers / I found this when looking for comparable products to the Milk Sunshine Skin Tint.  This was touted as a dupe for it, so I gave it a shot and have not been disappointed. This is the ideal everyday foundation for me, and the only one I wear when I want to put something on for work. I can apply it with my hands right over my moisturizer and sunscreen.  It basically just evens out my skin tone and makes me look less blotchy and red, while giving me a healthy sheer glow just like the name says. I use the darkest shade.

Milani Stay Put Eyeliner / Someone recommended this eyeliner to me on Instagram when I asked for a good drugstore liner. I like to use this to smudge on my lashline to give my eyes definition, or put it in my tightline for thicker- looking lashes. It is SO black and creamy, but sets nicely.

Morphe Virgin Liquid Lipstick  / This is a go to liquid lipstick shade. I’m definitely guilty of feeding into so much of the Youtube beauty world drama, and Morphe doesn’t have the best reputation so I didn’t try this for awhile. I have been blown away by it, and it’s the perfect kind of nude for me.  I like to use Rimmel Epic or Mac Oak liner with it.

Bose Headphones / I have truly used these wireless ear buds every single day since I picked them up in February. I love them for working out, and they feel so secure in my ears. I’ve heard so many people complain about their Air-pods falling out of their ears, and these don’t have that issue. The sound is great, and the case feels like good substantial quality. Highly recommend if you want some bluetooth headphones that without any cords.

Amazon Ring / After going to Uncommon James and seeing so many cute rings, I scoured Amazon for some great ones. I’ve had such great luck with my everyday earrings from there, and found this gem to wear. It hasn’t tarnished or turned my finger green, and is adjustable to wear on any finger. I have gotten compliments on it too, which never hurts.

China Glaze Chalk Me Up! / Love this light blue nail polish and it has a great formula as well.  Baby blue nails scream summer to me.

You Need to Calm Down / The music video for this song has been on repeat for me. I love EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS.

Home fragrances / Like I said I’m on a vanilla kick at the moment, and I found two scents that give me that Whiskey Row Nashville staircase experience lol.  The first is the Glade Sheer Vanilla Embrace candle.  If there was a perfume version of this I’d buy it.  Next is the Bath & Body Works Pink Petal Tea Cake. Thankfully this does have a body wash, so I can actually bathe in it.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo / I don’t think I mentioned this book, but I read it a couple months ago.  This is one of my favorites that I’ve ever read and I’m not going to try to describe it, but it’s the perfect summer read. I’m planning on checking out more books by this author ASAP.

Straw bag & shoes / I feel like I’m late to this trend but I’m loving all the rattan accessories at the moment. I think they look so cute and summery, and are so easy to incorporate into work or weekend outfits.  I have these shoes from Target & this bag from Nordstrom that I’m wearing nonstop. The picture above shows me wearing it in Nashville with this floral dress that I also love.

I hope everyone is having a great summer and thanks for clicking into my little part of the internet.
