It has been awhile since I went through my Sephora Loves list. It’s actually a really fun thing to do because it goes back a few years when different products were trending. I started to remove the products I no longer want to make this post not go on forever. Instead though, I thought it would be good to keep them on to share old trends and just divide this into categories so I actually can include more. I came up with the idea for this post because Thataylaa did a Youtube video on Sephora products on her loves list that she hadn’t been able to pull the trigger on.
I’m starting with the lip category. Lipsticks are something I never tire of buying, and I am proud to say that I’ve cleaned out my lip drawer a lot recently.
Lipsticks
Urban Decay Oblivion Vice Lipstick/ I do not remember adding this to my wishlist at all, but I’m really into it. I love greyish shades like this! The Sephora website describes it as a “Mega Matte gray-taupe”.
Nars Audacious Lipsticks / I was so obsessed with this lipstick for awhile and I actually own four. I hate to admit it, but I never reach for them. They’re glossy and not matte enough for my current preference. This line has some of the most beautiful reds I have seen though, but I wish they were matte. I’m currently typing each red that I had added to the wishlist and looking them up on Temptalia for more matte dupes.
Hourglass GIRL Lip Stylo / I have had the shade Idealist on my wishlist since last spring when these were released. The wearable colors of these really got me and the packaging too. I ended up buying it for my friend for her birthday instead of getting it for myself.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipsticks / I have the color Skinny Dip on my list, the light shade in the line. I own Rum Punch & Beach Babe from this collection, and really don’t need another! Right now this, MAC, and ABH matte lipsticks are my favorite lipstick bullet formulas.
Nudestix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil / Pixi has been sitting on my wishlist, and I actually bought it from Ulta a couple months ago. It has been one of my go to nudes along with the Whisper/ Mystic duo pencil. These are a great formula and the pencil applicator makes it easy to apply precisely. I use them as lip liners under liquid lipsticks as well. I would love to try their Magnetic Matte pencils as well.
Liquid Lipsticks
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain / The color I have on my wishlist is Coral Sunset, a burnt orangey red. This formula is GREAT and I might pull the trigger on this soon with a Christmas gift card I have. I’m adding Flame Red & Always Red to my wishlist too. The colors I have from this line are all dark and muted shades, and I love the price point too.
Makeup Forever Artist Liquid Matte Lipstick / The Makeup Forever matte liquid lipsticks have been on my wishlist forever, but I always tell myself that I do not need them because I have similar shades. I had 109 Praline & 103 Warm Beige, two beautiful nudes on my wishlist, but I have also been eyeing 401 Red as well. I’m going to Vegas in May and I might need to get these for that trip.
Tarte Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint / I have a few colors from this line on my wishlist, but I always hear negative things about the formula. The color selection is beautiful though.
ABH Liquid Lipstick / Allison, Trouble, & Crush are on my wishlist, and I’ve come close to getting both a few times. Realistically I have dupes in my collection and ABH is ranked #9 out of liquid lipstick formulas for me(not that high) so I shouldn’t get these. Realistically if I was going to get any Anastasia products it would be through Ulta to get the points.
Too Faced Queen B Melted Matte / Everytime I see someone wearing this I start wanting it! It is a beautiful nude pink and I have never tried this formula. Another one I’m switching over to my Ulta account wishlist.
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick / My friend wore this on her wedding day, which gives me confidence that this is a formula worth trying. I have the color Flirt on my wishlist but haven’t ever tried these out either! I had been so complacent with my Sephora Collection, Kylie Vacation Nudes matte collection, and Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks that I haven’t really ventured into trying all that many new formulas last year. Huda has some absolutely gorgeous shades!
Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment / Sometimes when I’m buying makeup for birthday gifts for my friends, I just go to my Sephora wishlist to see what products have been on the back of my mind. It’s an easy way to pick out a gift that they hopefully will love. I bought Save the Queen, a dusty purple mauve for a friend last year this way. Starwoman is also on my wishlist- it looks like a bold bright true red. The nudes from this line do not impress me that much, it is definitely a more bold color selection.
Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lipstick / I mentioned this product on my Christmas wish list this year. It is described as “a super-pigmented, creamy liquid lipstick in a squeezable tube”, which honestly means that I don’t think I would use it all that often when I want my makeup to last because it lacks a matte finish. I wonder if it would be difficult to actually get through the whole contents of the tube without an applicator to scoop it out? The packaging and seeing a couple of my favorite Youtubers wear the color Honey Bare was what drew me add this to my “loves” list.
Bite Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick / Everytime I go into Sephora I swatch Whip longingly, but it reminds me so much of the Nars Stripped Velvet Lip Glide (my favorite lipstick to keep in my purse) that I know I do not need to buy it. When I run out of Stripped I will probably pick up Cava in this formula as a replacement.
Non- Lipstick
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss / Kristen has been on my wishlist for awhile, but judging by this post the last thing I need is another nude gloss.
Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Kiss / I would bet that if I swatched/ smelled this in person that I wouldn’t be able to leave the store without buying it. Because of that I have refrained from doing so. I have the body mist and Bum Bum Lotion from Sol De Janeiro, and the fragrance is irresistable. It is honestly the nicest scent in the world.
Too Faced Lip Insurance Lip Primer / This is on my list because I genuinely love lip primers and I may pick this up at some point. Currently I am using the MAC Prep + Prime lip primer. Whenever I think about lip primers I always remember my favorite nude from like 2009- it was Benefit Lip Plump– pretty much an original liquid lipstick before liquid lipsticks were a thing! It way too nude for my tanning bed addicted self back then but I LOVED it. Lip Plump was one of the first high end makeup products that I ever purchased.
Again, I need to remind myself that I do NOT need to buy new lip products. I have more than I could personally get through for years. I tend to justify it by saying I’m trying new products “for my blog” lol.
