Ulta Holiday Haul 2018

Yesterday I headed into Ulta to use a 20% off coupon and a gift card I have been holding onto.  I picked up a few Christmas gifts… for other people and inevitably myself. There have been a couple things I’ve had in my Ulta cart online so I picked those out and ended up strolling the aisles grabbing more than what I went in for.

It had been awhile since I had visited the store and they had some exciting new displays- Morphe has its own section, KKW fragrance was out, and Kylie Cosmetics lip kits were there too.  I’m pretty sure that no one that I bought gifts for reads my blog, so I’ll also talk about those items along with what I picked up for myself.

Most of my haul was made up of brushes.  Being able to touch and see Morphe’s offerings was so helpful! I’ve been wanting to get a second M406 brush, and I grabbed some new ones to try out as well.

M406 / I love the brush for blending my bronzer and also putting setting powders on. This is a major must have for me.

M581 / This is a cheek brush with a pointy tip that I thought would be good for blending contour or applying under eye powders.

M513 / Fluffy brush for applying eyeshadow- I accidentally bought two of these so good thing I like it.

Tarte Buffer Foundation Brush / I’ve been wanting this foundation brush for years. SMLxo always applies her foundation with this fluffy Tarte brush.  Since it’s so large it seems like it would whip foundation on super quickly and blend it out to a lighter coverage, which can definitely come in handy with some of my more matte foundations.

Ardell Magnetic Accents #001 / This is a gift for one of my friends.  I’m on a mission to get all my friends and anyone that reads my blog onto the Magnetic lash bandwagon.  I’d suggest this particular set for a makeup beginner because of the length and not having to trim them.

Jack Black Mint Lip Balm / I’ve forced myself to get through a tube of my Glossier mint Balm Dotcom before purchasing this lip balm.  I’ve used it a few times now and absolutely love it, especially because it has SPF. Currently I’m rotating between this, classic Chapstick, and Fresh Caramel lip treatment.

Ulta Poreless Face Primer / There have been about three times that I’ve had the Tatcha Silk Canvas primer in my cart, but I just can’t justify the cost. I’m pretty sure I’d absolutely love it so I looked up the ingredients to find a dupe.  This Ulta primer came up containing some of the same main ingredients, so I’m giving it a try. It feels AMAZING on- it literally glided onto my face but without feeling like it was straight silicon, and my makeup held up really well for hours without having to re-powder.  Not sure how much better or worse it is than the Tatcha one, but I’m loving it so far.

Maybelline Plumper, Please in Tease, Tease / So this wasn’t from the same trip, but I figured I’d throw it in anyway. I can’t remember whose video I saw this in, but I was intrigued by the lip liner/ gloss combo in one product. The crayon on one side is too light to be a liner for me, but I like it as an all over lip color to wear under the gloss. It feels minty and tingling which I also enjoy.  As always, drugstore lip products always only come in one nude shade, which just doesn’t cut it. I love this other than that though and it has a new home in my purse.

Cetaphil Redness Relief Neutral Tint moisturizer / I saw this posted online and immediately knew I needed to give it a try.  I love skincare products that double as face makeup! I’ll be doing a post on those kind of products soon with a review of this as well.

Ulta Rose Gold Illuminating Setting Spray / I also picked this spray up after seeing this in store and it reminding me of the Iconic London setting spray. As the reviews mention, the sprayer is crap so I need to switch that out to get it to apply a nice mist.

Colourpop Sweet Nothings palette / I didn’t buy this, but wanted to mention that this looks like a really cute neutral and purple palette! This would be an awesome gift for a makeup lover.

Fingers crossed I’ll get a few Ulta gift cards for Christmas and will be doing another haul soon!  Whoever says that gift cards are impersonal doesn’t understand the heart of a serial shopper.
