October & November 2018 Favorites

Combining two months worth of favorites because October and November flew by!  I need to get blogging incorporated into my life as a priority again. Lately I’ve been weirdly super focused on home decor.  Halloweeny pumpkin stuff for fall, and now Christmas decorations. It’s been a lot of fun decorating in the new house, and I’ve made way too many trips to Target and JoAnn’s lately.  Here are some of the products I was loving the past two months.

Beauty

Huda Beauty / During the Sephora VIB Rouge sale I splurged on the Huda Beauty New Nudes palette.  I have a post using it here. This is a stunning palette and I get inspired to create rosey looks everytime I see it. Someone posted this gorgeous purple look on Reddit and I can’t wait to try to recreate it with Lace from the palette. I also picked up the Huda Overachiever concealer but I got the wrong shade and will be returning it. I felt like it was kind of a sign to not buy any more concealers until I finish up all the ones I have. Once I’m through all of them, which will definitely take awhile, this is the one I have my eye on.

Dr. Teals Himalayan salt scrub / I’ve found my new favorite scrub.  I switched it up from the sugar scrub I usually buy and went for this salt one. I like that it’s much grittier and a little bit goes a long way.

Fake Bake Flawless Darker / All my other tanners seem to literally pale in comparison to this one. It comes with a mitt and is so simple to use. After exfoliating and shaving, I apply Nivea to my hands, elbows, and inner wrists, then use Fake Bake. It gives a dark golden brown color and doesn’t get streaky.

Maybelline Full n’ Soft / I picked up this mascara after seeing it mentioned by @flukeofmakeup on Instagram. It’s a mascara that has been around for years that I had never tried, and I really like it. I keep it in my “car” makeup bag and sometimes apply it during my lunch for an afternoon face pick me up- embarrassing but very real.

Eylure Accent lashes / Still on a magnetic lashes kick! The Eylure accents don’t need to be trimmed like the Ardell ones do. These give a more natural winged look vs. the Ardell double wispy style, but they don’t have as many magnets. They come in a nice plastic case as well.  I’m wearing false lashes in all these photos.

Mac Face and Body / I just posted a full breakdown of how much I love this foundation for a glowy long lasting complexion.

Setting Primer / I forgot about this trick that makes my foundation stay on- setting my primer with a powder.  I describe my application routine here.

Lifestyle

Febreze Wax melts / I love to use my Scentsy wax warmer with the Febreeze or Glade melts. They make our house smell nice and I don’t have to worry about burning down the house.  I particularly like the Fresh Pressed Cider and Fresh Cut Pine scents.  They smell amazing and compliment the holiday decor around the house.

Riverdale / Usually I stick to Kardashians, Jersey Shore, and The Bachelor when it comes to shows.  However, my friends wanted to go as the girls of Riverdale to a Halloween party and since I have the most reddish hair of the four of us, I agreed to be Cheryl Blossom.  I figured I should give the show a watch to know what I needed to wear. I got fully caught up and Riverdale is now my obsession. The third season is currently airing, and every Thursday when it’s on Hulu I am so eager to watch.  This is the first non- reality show I’ve been hooked on in quite a while and although it can be cheesy, it’s hilarious to me. It is based off the original Archie comics- a group of teens solving Nancy Drew mysteries while going through high school. It’s super retro but based in present day, so the outfits, cars, and backdrop are all old school but they also have phones which is a unique twist. I can’t say enough good things about it! Season one and three have been my favorites so far. It can definitely be cheesy, but fight through it and I promise you’ll be obsessed too. Betty, Cheryl and Jughead are my favorite characters.

Leather jacket / I 100% copied my friend’s leather jacket and bought the same Blank NYC one she has when I saw it on Nordstrom Rack. I’ve worn it a couple times now and it is super comfortable and has a flattering fit that makes me feel slim. Some structured jackets can feel restricting, but this one isn’t. It’s only $60 here.  I’m wearing it in this photo

Amazon Lists  I’ve been adding more items to my Amazon lists, so take a look! I always seem to be buying stuff on smile.amazon.com, so I’m trying to keep my lists a little more updated. I’m going to a bachelorette party in Nashville so there will be lots and lots of dresses and rompers on there.

Target & Old Navy Basics / These stores have had THE cutest stuff lately! Right now I’m wearing a chenille sweater from Target, the luxe v-neck long sleeve from Old Navy, and I’m obsessed with the Old Navy Power Straight jeans. Literally want these jeans and vnecks in every color to wear as a wardrobe staple.

Pop & Suki Carryall / I wanted to change it up from my Longchamp, so I ordered the Pop & Suki Carryall Nubuck Carryall. It’s such an ideal bag for me and the suede is gorgeous.  They stopped carrying the Carryall unfortunately, but you can find them on Poshmark!

Sparkle Straws / I drink water out of a Starbucks tumbler at work all day, and my old straw was grossing me out.  I bought a pack off Amazon and gave one to a coworker as well. With the war on plastic straws going on, I thought it could be worth sharing.

Health / This has also been a priority for me and I’m proud to say that a lot of my jeans are feeling looser and I’ve gone down two sizes from my highest weight.  Getting a scale has been helpful. I still get scared to weigh myself in fear of seeing the number go back up, and buying clothes in smaller sizes stresses me out because I could be buying stuff that will be too small in a couple months. The scale gives me a reality check though, so I’ve been trying to weigh myself once a week.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones! Thankful for you taking a moment to read my blog.
