Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Palette with Two Lip Options
This makeup look is ultra- simple. I was inspired to do a matte halo eye by a look that Shelbey Ashburn was wearing on snapchat. Halo eyeshadow is one of my favorite looks to do because they are super easy. I can barely do a cut crease to save my life, but halo eyes are all about blending and (usually) dark colors. I used light/ medium brown, tan, and grey shades from the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye palette. Usually I do matte shadows for the “halo” of the look, and a pop of shimmer in the center of the lid. This time I just used the light matte cream shades to keep it effortless. To play it up I added a shimmery gold dot to the bottom lower lash line. I love how much dimension the shadow placement adds to my eyelid. I managed to stay away from warm tones for once, go me!
About the lips: I have been lacking on wearing dark lips lately. I stare lovingly at them in my lipstick drawer and swatch them on my hand for no reason like a crazy person. When it comes to wearing them though, I can’t seem to get it right lately. I always want to overdraw because I prefer large lips, and I keep ending up jagged and all over the place. I started with a non- risky nude, then decided to try out a darker lip. I picked one of the darkest shades I own and went for it. Lucky for me it turned out perfectly! I used Mac Oak lip liner as a guide to help myself out. I was so happy because it gave me confidence to wear dark lips more often.
